I think it's more the disappointment if Dunk can't lead the team out for our first European match rather than his absence having a bearing on the result

Disagree. Means he'll probably be replaced either by Webster who is not even in the same stratosphere or Igor who has yet to play for us. That's without his leadership qualities.

A team without Dunk is a much weaker side.

"...and no new injury worries" suggests Dunk should be fine, and we may see the inclusion of March on Thursday :albion2:

Poor Dunky. It's sentimental and he'll have plenty of chances AND he's just played a blinder for England so must be buzzing, but that's pretty devastating.
On the flipside, a great chance to try other combinations against weaker opposition.

Likely true. wasn't in the press conference, not in training video and rumours and seemingly confirmed that he's now out of tonight's game

Too much smoke with this one. Better not be long term injury.
Best case is he's being rested completely tonight

Most likely case is he's picked up a knock and out for tonight

Worst case is long term injury

Not in Whitechapel
Confirmed he's not playing - source is @Leaked_FPL

Wow, what a trustworthy sauce. They’re never wrong.

With every passing day I understand more and more why blokes in West Africa spend all day trying to convince people that they’ve won £400,000,000 from a dead Prince.

Dunk might not play but f*ck me it would be nice if people could do 20 seconds of researching before posting absolute bollocks on here as facts.

Or we've been worried about Dunk's niggling injury ever since the end of last season but playing him anyway, making it an existing rather than a new worry, just one that's got more worrying since Saturday.

That would be really stretching the ordinary meaning of the phrase, though.

So is there actually anything concrete that says he's even a doubt for tonight, or is this all just conjecture and bullshit based on him not being in a video (along with several others) and some anonymous Twitter account?

Because if not frankly this feels like we're getting our knickers in a twist over the square root of f*** all.

My best guess is that he's carrying a knock which would allow Lewis to play if he had to.
However he hasn't missed a minute so far this season and has just come off back to back games at Hampden Park and Old Trafford.
Added to which we have a crucial Premier League game in 3 days time against Bournemouth.

I reckon RDZ and our sports scientists have made an assessment and instructed Lewis to have some recovery time, return on Sunday, then rest again and miss Chelsea, then return for our game at Villa Park.

I expect to see a back four tonight of Veltman, JPvH, Webster and Estupiñán.

That's it. Essentially, RDZ said yesterday in press conference no new injuries, fully fit squad...

Dunk is replaced by Gross for media duties and Dunk not seen in training video

Nobody knows any more and people are speculating on the above.

Could be personal reasons. Hopefully Dunk's said 'sorry boss, I've just realised I've got a dentist appointment this afternoon. Can you get Pascal to stand in for me. I'll need to miss some training minutes but don't worry, you can count on me leading the team to a win'

If that's the case I certainly wouldn't like to be the one who told him.

Seems an entirely reliable source.
They got some of them right.
