[Albion] Dunky at the Darts

No, table football
Long time ago, when the club held Christmas parties at the Metropole, I had the privilege of playing table football with FDM. In a strange twist of fate, he had the midfield/strikers and I was the defence/keeper.
We won and he gave me a high five!

Sussex but not by the sea
Which kind of proves that what gets said on here gets noticed by the team.
Not sure re NSC as it was EVERYWHERE, all over Youtube, podcasts, phone ins, etc.
If I was a BHA player then the very last site I'd visit is this one!! I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't in the new player welcome pack :)

This is very true, I know for a fact, Players and the Club are reading this forum, twitter etc, not that it has ever overly bothered me, but they are very aware of what is going on.
Of course, but providing you're not directly abusing or BESMIRCHING a club employee or posting outright libel then I don't see the need at all for that to affect what people post or how they post it.

The whole point of a football forum is to debate stuff about football. That can be style of play, kit, form of team, form of players, players in partnerships, the need (or not) for a regulator, the need (or not) for a FAB and, yes, the coaching team and what they're delivering.

NSC is an extension of the pre match pub, in game "terrace chatter" and post match pub. I've heard some absolute drivel in my time attending football. Which means the person saying it probably thinks I'm talking bollocks.

But if you do post something silly on here then there's a chance the players will call you out, as here, or, possibly, you'll be the subject of a 2000 word opinion piece in the next Match Day Magazine. And if you post something libellous or directly abusive there's a good chance you'll be banned from both here and the Amex.

I suppose it would be very surprising if they didn't. Would be a mistake to assume it represents everyone but remains a useful belwether of the prevailing mood. Handy insight and sometimes we even come up with some constructive stuff!

Well, if the players do read this stuff....Joel, please can I have your shirt? PM me and I'll let you know my seat number so you can pop up with it after the game. I'll buy you a pint. 😘

The club have been all over NSC for years, as I got a telling off for posting on here when I worked for AITC and deleted my original account before starting this one.

Don't work for them anymore, so don't have to lurk now...

I am sure the club monitor NSC, equally I am sure they have enough experience of football fans to know that much of what is posted is vented emotion and should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'm not excusing some of the shit written about players and the fake ITK crap but the club will manage to filter out a lot of our ramblings.

They’d be stupid not to. All companies want to understand how their customer base thinks and perceives them. NSC once you wade through it must be a goldmine of useful information on the club’s fanbase.

I’m sure the club as a whole is smart enough to work out when it’s 10 idiots posting some crap over and over again versus when it’s the majority.

If the players are reading NSC then there’s a real danger of them feeling like they are being targeted and hated by the fans when all it is in reality is 10 or so idiots who can’t stop repeating the same point over and over.

For example, I think the majority of posters think Bart Verbruggen is a good to excellent goalkeeper with tons of potential and he had a slight wobble as almost every young player will at some point. But a few posters took against him, the ‘dopey Dutchman’ being used as a term for him. The danger for Bart would be he thinks this is how a significant number of fans feel when in fact it’s a very small number of people.

Hopefully the club are smart enough to educate the players on this. If you read lots of negative comments online that are actually only written by 10-20 people and then think 30,000 people are watching you every home game you’re actually doing pretty good.
