One day they won't sign a contract extension.

When he finally retires, I’d love to see a list of all the confidential professional bids (obviously not from Leeds) we’ve had in for him over the years that prompt these annual contract extensions.

Suspect this creates a headroom to significantly increase Whites offer so everyone is happy (excepts Leeds fans)

Many people were claiming we should have been looking for £40 to £50m if he had have left the club this summer, but IMO and in this Covid time where budgets are going to get squeezed, I never thought for one minute we'd get a sum like that. Maybe £30m tops (regardless of the fact that many fans think he's worth more).

In my view he is such a key to our survival hopes - yes we want to push on and try to move up the table - but first things first and as we've seen from the last 3 seasons a solid back line is vital to give us that base from which to build from. With Dunky now staying I reckon that could be worth £30 to £40m to us anyway if he helps us not only stay up but to prosper from last season's green shoots under Potter.

I'm really pleased that he's made this commitment and clearly wants to play regularly rather than have a year or two in the sun, quite possibly not playing all the time with a bigger club. Ultimately we'll never know how he would have fared but I for one am delighted with this news as it almost feels like a new signing. Now for a new striker and left back and a push towards mid table.

Good summer to buy...bad summer to sell.

Apart from white to a top 4 club (and I have no idea if that will materialise) I doubt uncle tone will sell any biggies in that kind of market....

Excellent news. :clap2::clap2::clap2::albion2:

We back Dunk, Dunk backs us.

He could just be the biggest Albion player of all time.

Who is up for the FA cup this year?

Put me in such a fantastic mood, great work by the club and all involved. This probably doesn't -smash- the wage structure, but at least opens up new wage levels for the rest

The memories of the Wigan promotion game, when he ended up leaving the pitch in just his under wear may have swayed his decision.

This news is as good as a top shelf signing. Without Dunk last season we would be swapping places with Leeds.

Last time I bought something from a top shelf ..... ahh make the rest up yourself.

Agree with the sentiment though

Could realistically see Dunk with us for his whole career. Which is fantastic, and such loyalty. 100% Mr Albion.

We should organise a flag/banner to have somewhere permanent in the ground.

oh yes,

100% Albion on the pitch
100% Albion off the pitch

DUNK
