Chilwell likely out of the squad now. That leaves Shaw for left/wing back and Trippier for right/wing back. We're running out of options. TAA will probably get in as back up wb but wouldn't it be nice if there was an Englishman capable of playing both left and right wing back?

Any one got any ideas?
You trying to steal a March on Southgate?

Am I right in recalling that he wasn’t actually eligible to ply for Ireland, but this didn’t come out until after he’d retired?
His mother was adopted so he wasn’t a blood relative of his Irish grandfather and therefore he claims he was never eligible to play for Ireland.

However the Irish FA said his claim for Irish citizenship was never in doubt, he had an Irish passport issued in 1985, the same year as his debut, so therefore he was always eligible to play for them.
