With two centre backs having a good start to their season in the Championship, we'll have a surplus of them next year, so it wouldn't be a big surprise if Dunk went for big money. If big money offers aren't made, then I'd love to keep him.

Yes, but not this window... or the next one... those 2 CB’s are not coming back here until next season...

having a quality player you can afford to keep is a nice position to be in . . . . but Potter ball may ultimately require more skillfull defenders . . . you can see a plan emerging, but thats potentially next season . . .we need to survive this one first.

Still think Dunk is on arsenal’s Radar! Especially with kossie leaving

Hope you told your Arsenal mate he was a **** Dave  Same old Arsenal fans, believing all rumours and their credibility is ‘I have a season ticket’ - wow, well done plastic

Yes, that's what I was saying.

I think Dunk is a skilful. I'm not saying he'll be nutmegging his way out of trouble, but he's capable of coming out with the ball and making a pass if his nearby teammates are marked, whilst also being big and strong enough to win headers and throw his body on the line. Duffy is more of the latter without as much skill on the ball, Dunk is a good balance between the two.

I think you're right Zeff - Dunk is decent on the ball, there was a raking cross field pass to Bruno last year that was sumptuous, he can do it but in our recent seasons arse to the wall defending was what was required and without an outlet last season with Jose crocked, there were no players to pass to IMHO. I do believe he'll go next years as some of our young bucks come through

A contact at Leicester ( works for the club ) says Dunk isn't and hasn't been on the radar.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of a number of options.

This thread is a summary of the irrational and chaotic minds of football fans. Heads turn to mush during the transfer window.

The Argus, who's sports coverage I respect but nothing else, said that it was very unlikely to happen. If it did Leicester City would have to pay a huge sum.

At that point the information was enough for me and probably others.

So all this pretend ITK crap has caused another 500 posts ?

That would be the Argus that said there was nothing in the rumours we were after Maupay? Righty-oh then.

Is it not correct that even a season loan can be terminated during a window so hypothetically if Arsenal came in for Dunk to day we could sell him for £50m as most people seem to think we would get, and call Clarke back from Derby and or White from Leeds or even do the same in the January window.

There is also a rule that you cannot recall a loan within the 1st 28 days isn't there ?

Media has a lot to answer for it, perpetuating as gospel that the Maguire signing would set off a vast chain of predetermined events including the tectonic plates shifting.

Owen and Naylor have quality contacts. They have never reported as confirmation that we are in for a player that we weren't. Unlike every other outlet.

On the odd occasion they have been put off the scent. That's normal and most forgivable.

The Gooners targeting two foreign CB’s according to Sky so, as has been said repeatedly, Dunky is almost certain to stay...

Don’t think that’s the case any more......PL handbook :

V.7.4. subject to any conditions imposed by the Board in the exercise of its discretion under Rule V.4.2, the minimum period of a Temporary Transfer shall be the period between two consecutive Transfer Windows and the period of a Temporary Transfer shall not extend beyond 30 June next after it was entered into, save that the Board may, in its absolute discretion, permit a Temporary Transfer to be terminated before the commencement of the second Transfer Window (subject to such conditions as the Board deems appropriate);

I would think that was from info fed to them deliberately.
And their comments on Dunk could have been too.

But that's not the situation we're discussing. We're discussing whether Leicester could have been in for Dunk. You're saying that the Argus are conservative and don't say a sale might happen unless they're sure of it. So we just know that the Argus weren't sure that Leicester were in for Dunk.

They weren't sure we were in for Maupay, so they said we weren't. They were wrong (again).

I’m sure you understand that there are often complexities and competing interests that will ensure a deal is either done or not. I’m unhappy about this ITK slandering because, I shit you not, the Dunk to Leicester speculation dates back to May and my “source” is impeccable in his or her pedigree when it comes to our club.

I’ve learnt that posting these insights on here these days is a pointless exercise. There was a time, when we were small time plodders, playing in ridiculous venues to small crowds that these subjects were fair and encouraged. Once we became the rock n roll big time Charlie’s with hordes of JCL dickheads who see innocent gossip as almost a voodoo charm driving our stars out that it’s no longer worth sharing info.

I’m sure there are some malicious divvies who make stuff up for shits and giggles but me? Nah.

I won’t bother anymore, we’re too corporate for a messageboard.

I wouldnt put it as strongly as that as I am sure that they reported in good faith what they were told. I think that Leicester may have been interested in passing until TB put the ridiculous price on him to warn off buyers and they then dropped out and took him off of their radar..

That’s what I’d guess happened too......
