Looks as though the press and media in general are ignoring the fact that dunk has been selected at all! Hardly a mention of him when talking about englands defensive woes even suggesting if stones injury is worse and he can’t start, dunk should not be next to the palace laddie. Phil mcnulty basically suggesting that picking him instead of braithwaite will lose us the euros before we have kicked a ball.
Phil McNulty (BBC chief football writer) in his flagship piece, "Five key issues England boss Southgate must solve before Euro 2024" which includes his analysis of the defensive problems, doesn't mention Dunk at all!

Yep. It’s almost as if they have expunged him from the squad

Our defence has 99 problems, but Dunk ain’t one.

Ignore McNobhead - He will never back Dunk. As mentioned earlier, he’s an Everton fan and as we know, they’re all rather pissed that Braithwaite was overlooked!

What all these morons cannot understand, is that yes, Braithwaite is good at defending (you have to be in a Sean Dyche team), but Southgate doesn't like to play that same style. He like's to play a possession based passing game which is why Dunk has come in ahead of him.

Braithwaite. :lolol: :lolol:
To be fair (not that I rate fairness overall) Braithwaite may be appropriate, just as Stains used to be managed by an ARSE called Nigel Atkins.

But it may be a bit too soon to commit on this. You need to be an established tit to warrant a permanent comedy misnomer.

This is exactly why Dunk wasn't given a look in when he and Duffy were booting absolutely everything away season after season. Same with every Burnley CB under Dyche, all posting amazing stats for blocks and tackles, but still languishing in the Championship or bottom of Prem playing awful football.

For Everton fans see Palace fans - in that these players won't be Everton/Palace players come Aug 31st.
If Dunk were 3 or 4 years younger then the same would probably apply to him too.

Dunk will be fine so long as the opposition don't have a big, strong, skilful no 9 - he should be benched if they do!!

even so, Dunk is probably the best equipped out of the choices available.

I would have Dunk in for any games where there is likely to be some attacking intent from the opposition.
But if Guehi is given the chance to be shown up by Mitrovic, rather than Dunk, i won't be too upset.
