I can’t be arsed to check the data but in gut feeling I think we defend better without our club captain than with.

Do you agree? Do you want to dig the data? For me, if all our centre backs are fit then LD shouldn’t start.

We need them both, neither likely to play a whole season as they are approaching twilight of their careers. Could use them in tandem with JPVH.

maybe, maybe not. we certainly are at the minute, but webster always has a mistake in him and igor i just don’t think is a very good defender. point is that we really should be. really sad to say but dunky is nowhere near what he was. if we’re a better team with him in it, that’s a problem imo. JPVH can take up the ‘leadership’ mantle, but the bulk of whatever our summer budget is needs to go on buying a top class player to go alongside him. preferably one who can go above walking speed.

I was wondering what the negative post would be about following tonight's result...... (there was always one coming)

Using just Premier League games this season, statistically we are better without him but it is a smaller sample size. As much as I like stats, I think the eye test says it all though, we’ve looked more solid without him this season, be it Igor or Webster playing instead of him. Dunk has been generally poor for about 18 months now and is a bit of a weak link for us unfortunately.

Games started: 17 - won 5, drawn 7, lost 5 - 22 points - average 1.29 points per match

Games missed: 6 - won 3, drawn 2, lost 1 - 11 points - average 1.83 points per match

Games started goals conceded: 30 - average 1.76 per match

Games missed goals conceded: 7 - average 1.17 per match
