Manchester where I work is the most grey, damp and depressing place in the world

Manchester for me too. Lived there for 6 months in 2004 because of work never seen so much rain in all my life and every other person thinks they are a drug dealer.

On away days Luton and Blackpool are both toilets. Blackpool for the weekend is a good crack but my God imagine having to wake up there every morning. That would be soul destroying.

I'd like to throw Bolton into the ring. Awful place. Nice people though. Especially liked the porn shop "Softy's Hard Stuff" :-(

I think we had Oldham away as our first game a few years back, glorious day, but my good god what an UTTER hellhole- BNP posters up everywhere. Just a really horrible little place.
Bridgewater has been mentioned, but i love that place. ***inbreds FTW***

My wife comes from Ashford in Kent. All her brothers and Mum still live there.

It's a f***ing tragic nothing town. Oh and if my wifes family are anything to go by, everyone there is utterly clueless and thick.

Deepcut - A true one horse town. A greasy spoon cafe, barbers (I think) and not much else. Most people born with an extra finger and didn't need flippers to go swimming.
Aldershot in the 80's. - Soulless ghetto but good for a punch up any time, any day.
Felixstowe - Britains Premier Port.....fecking khazi

Leicester. Nazi bombs didn't leave much, so a naff city centre was rebuilt with Readymix. No one looks happy.

That's news to me - I didn't know about Leicester being bombed. Do you have links to any articles about it?

I'll add Mitcham to the list. A friend of mine used to teach there (on the Phipps Bridge Estate) and my, was she glad to get out. Looks alright at first with its cricket green, but it's a nasty place and has got far worse in recent times. There is a sign as you drive out saying "Thank you for visiting Mitcham Town Centre". As I drove out, I thought "The pleasure's all yours". Another awful place is Hanley, the shopping centre part of Stoke-on-Trent. The whole place is totally dead. I went there extremely hungry on my way back from our FA Cup game against Manchester United in 1993 looking for a chippy. Literally everywhere was closed. Suffolk is one of England's most attractive counties. However, Brandon is one of England's least attractive towns. One long, horrible high street, where you will most likely be stuck in a traffic jam, without a single interesting building to break the monotony. Mildenhall and Lakenheath fall into the same bracket. Okay, Lakenheath is only a village. It's still extremely dull.

I lived in Ponders End, ten minutes from Enfield in norf landan for a little over a year, and it was the worst place I've ever been to. It made Croydon look like the hanging gardens of Babylon.
