In Garth Crooks’s team of the match-week. Not bad for a player written off a few months ago.

Like most, I thought he was done but he is proving his worth and any time Potter speaks about him, he speaks enthusiastically about Shanes personality so I think they get along very well.

In the long term future there may not be room for him but this season I think he will play a lot and be important to the team.

Potter has definitely been more effusive abiout SD lately.
I'm guessing here, but the fact they have both lost fathers in the past 18 months or so, may be something that has helped them create a much bigger bond than was evident previously.

First game on Sunday where I’m concerned about how Duffy will manage I can see him being targeted

Leicester have the pace to trouble anyone. They murdered us last year at theirs. Tough match but I have every confidence Shane will have another good game.

Leicester’s pace on the counter is not just an issue for Duffy we are exposed at RB without lamptey (who we all remember easily catching a very rapid Vardy) and have lost Webster

I don’t remember any threads with ‘Burnley this weekend White is going to struggle’ so seems odd to pick out Duffy for this fixture.

Let’s face it all of our players have their weakness individually and our team collectively which makes it easier or harder for them depending on the opposition. Duffy may struggle he may not but he has done enough this season already to justify being one of the first choices on the team sheet

I don’t imagine Leicester are looking forward to him being in their box for set pieces either

Nobby, I worship at the altar of your endless positivity, you're a breath of fresh air and the best thing to happen to NSC since one of our many resident dullards (Beach Slut in this particular instance) announced he was taking a two week NSC hiatus to go to a philately convention in Chipping Sodbury, more power to you!

Well undersandable the OP picked out Duffy l think, pace will be a big issue against Leicester and the likes of Jamie Vardy, and pace most definately isn't big Shane's greatest asset.

It’s not pascals either or Dunks for that matter unless I am missing the thread about them?

Not picking on exactly but he’s the one that is least comfortable with the ball and they will know it so he’ll be the one closed rapidly it will affect how we set up undoubtedly

Top work Shane Duffy!

And no, Big Shane's not suddenly become a New Man Who Knits His Own Organic Muesli. Bloke was never going to change. He's not capable of doing so - for which we'll be very very grateful this season. DunkDuffy was NEVER a busted flush. Farming him out to TheNaughtyChair=Celtic was a major managerial mistake. Probably on a par with never giving Andone any kind of chance to demonstrate he still does what he's always done on the pitch. Pretty frustrating that it's My Emotional Intelligence Way Or The Highway. Schoolboy manager errors right there

I think the absence of Webster and no recognised RB will have more impact on how we setup and Leicester will target areas like all teams do. I just struggle why we are pulling out Duffy as an example on a thread when there are plenty of others who will struggle against a very good Leicester side.

My personal view is his weaknesses are hugely overplayed on here and he has shown himself under Hughton and so far under Potter this season to be more than capable to perform at this level.

Come on stat Brentford aren’t on the same level as Leicester can u imagine Barnes and vardy chasing Duffy down? Sends a shiver down the spine

I don't imagine for one minute JV will have a sleepless night, on Saturday, tormented by the horrors that wait him.
I'm actually quite surprised he's only scored 5 goals against us (6 if you include Sunday's).

I'm also of the belief that there are games where The Duffman will be exposed, as there should be when we are as we are in this league.

I just struggle with the assumption that win lose or draw, Sunday's game will all be Duffy's fault.

Jamie Vardy has humiliated considerably better centre backs than Duffy.

Brentford's game is all about the press and tempo.
Our game against Brentford resulted in 3 points and a clean sheet.

Was that in spite Duffy?
