What the hell. How hard can it be to come up with a crap chant?

Goals are flowing,
All around me,
Children cheering, having fun.
It's the season,
For Brighton beating Palace,

Murray Christmas, Everyone.

Its quite a good song
Its quite good fun
But it doesn't scan
Or rhyme properly, you silly bum

Hark now see the Seagulls play
winning all the way
and Murray scores for fun each game
because its Brighton's day

To the tune for 'Hark the Herald Angels

Its a no for me.

OK, try this, to the tune of Modern, by Peter Hammill

Amex is strange, throbbing with life at its heart -
people are drawn together, simultaneously torn apart....
Foundations are shattered in the city
inside the barricaded doors;
hiding behind their walls, lonely as night falls,
maybe the people are waiting for Duffy.

Falmer is strange, seventh wonder of the earth -
gardens ablaze in colour, slowly rotting in the dirt
and, with Will Grigg on fire, you can't really see.
The hanging gardens sing,
but with a hollow ring :
Duffy is force, he's killing me....

Don't look back or you'll turn to stone;
look around before your goal is overgrown
with concrete slabs.
On your back the searching eyes that stab
between shower curtains, glinting,
but never owning to a name...
like the inmates of asylums
all the North Stand are contagiously insane....

Promotion is strange, the explosion of an age -
no-one really knows what to do,
and the PL is a cage.
It traps in ashen hours and concrete towers,
imprisons in the social order.
Football has lost its way,
madness takes hold today...
I can't live under water.

Do we need to change the words? I'm not sure we do.

Why not sing the words everybody knows, apart from changing Merry to Murray.

That would be quite literally, marvellous, if the one Christmas song we come up with, is for the one Arab in the team

What, like the one people occasionally try to start to the tune of Noel Noel?

Yes.

(No) that one whilst to a Xmas tune isn't really a xmassy chant. It's a PERFECT chant tbh. I have no idea why it hasn't really caught on.
