I don't think deaf people can drive LGV/PCVs on the technicality they can't alert emergency services via phone if there is an accident/ breakdown situation? May be wrong
Ever tried clutch control-v-engine revs ? Its not that hard.

Erm, I've been driving for 30 years.
Some may have to think about it, some don't.
Guess you're in the Radio off, don't talk I'm pulling away camp.
Also, how do they gauge the revs of the engine when pulling away etc
Having earphones in could take away concentration,a distant sound of an emergency vehicle approaching might not be heard,if one has earphones in their ears....personally i don't use them, but some of my fellow 7.5 tonne drivers do,i prefer to be able to hear and concentrate whilst driving a potential killing machine..
Besides some ear phones used by HGV/LGV drivers are plugged into the rear facing cameras microphone..
They are safer than blind drivers. Are you suggesting that deaf drivers are dangerous?

Yep , the ones on the bikes with them are the best, totally oblivious to whats going on around them.
It all depends on how competent the dog is.Are you suggesting that blind drivers are dangerous?
How do you think motorcyclists manage with helmets on?
