I find it annoying trying to drink quickly during half-time
Exactly. I don't want to miss the second half drinking in the concourse, I want to take it in my seat. It won't happen because some fans cannot act responsibly and that is a shame.

Reading these threads - it sounds like best solution would be to permit it; but just not in east upper, to keep all the grandads who can't bare to stand up occasionally happy?

It has.
Many times

And it's not as simple as yes and no.

I would like to be able to leisurely drink a pint at my seat.
But I don't want to be getting out of the way for people going to the bar and returning then going for a piss, every 10 minutes.
Neither do I want to get drenched in beer for the "limbs" when we score.
I'm going to suggests you can't have one without the possibility of the other which is why I always vote no.

If you are allowed to take other drinks to your seats, then surely you should be able to also take alcohol?
Really? How many people do you see luzz a cup of coffee or tea. Unfortunately, the behaviour of morons pretty much dictates this won't happen. Alternatively, anyone caught luzzing beer in the stand, if a season ticket holder, gets a 10 game ban, or a casual fan, a 5 year ban.

I'm OK with taking a drink (a drink) to your seat before the game starts, but not for replenishing during the game. If the bars are then closed when the game starts and then until say 5 minutes before HT and FT then it could work.
And guess what, those plebs will be buying 3 or 4 pints before the game and taking them to their seat for themselves.

not if you invoke a one drink rule going to your seat

There were a few sneaking a pint into the NS last night both at kick off and the second half, one was subsequently taken away but the rest got away with it
There are a couple of dickheads who I sat near last season in the back of N1A, right next to the West stand, who did this every game, sometimes in both halves - in at 5 minutes, pint hidden under coat, out at 35, back at 50 with another hidden pint, away at 80... Alcoholics, essentially.

Apart from disturbing you to go and get one and then returning from getting one (which people do all the time to go for a piss, buy a pie, leave early/arrive late etc) does the fact they are drinking in the seats really spoil your “matchday experience” ?
Genuine question.

No it shouldn't.

People inconveniencing everyone else, by getting up every four minutes for a refill or a piss, throughout the game, are f***ing annoying. And getting showered in beer every time a goal is scored or conceded because people are immature pricks, isn't great fun either.

Enjoy your beer on the concourse. Cheers 🍺
100% this.

Go to rugby at Twickenham or elsewhere and it's horrendous.

It's illegal to do it in this country so I don't think the debate will go anywhere.

Personal opinion is If you go out to have 5 pints then not sure if it really matters whether you consumed on the concourse or in your seats you have to unload at some point so don't think the disruption would be much greater. Will having a beer at your seat make you go for a 6th or 7th or will you drink more slowly, I don't know the answer. I would suggest most people won't be worried about drinking more , it might also stop the half-timer consumers coming back on 50 -55 mins as they have not had to stay behind to finish their drink.

If this is on a 'to do' list I would suggest improving the service at the bars and improving the toilets (WSU) are much higher up the priority.

Anyone who has been along to a WSL live beamback at the Amex will know what an utter pain in the ARSE drinking in the seats is. Just a constant stream during the game of boozed-up GOONS who can't hold their drink going back and forth with wobbly plastic pint glasses, alongside just as many doing the same to then go back and forth for a piss. Got absolutely sick of it.

I'm not impartial to squeezing in a half-time beer on the concourse, being as I usually go in to check the scores anyway. But in the seats ? GET IN THE SEA.
