Two gunmen shot dead by police in Texas after opening fire at a completion to draw the prophet Muhammad.
Never going to end well was it.
Never going to end well was it.
But if you dont doesnt that effectively mean the end if free speech. So on your example if an action is likely to be greeted with violence even though you can do something you shouldnt. So the whole issue of race in the southern states will still be as it was before the marches and protests in the early 60s.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-32579396
Sunday's event was organised by the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), which is run by controversial blogger and activist Pamela Geller and is listed as an anti-Muslim group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil rights group...
An anti-Muslim civil rights group
...Speaking before Sunday's event, Ms Geller told AP news agency that the aim of the contest was to make a stand for free speech.
Just because you can, it doesn't mean you should.
Is there not a case for respecting the sensitivities of a religious group?
This event shows stupidity is the route of all evil. But if you dont doesnt that effectively mean the end if free speech. So on your example if an action is likely to be greeted with violence even though you can do something you shouldnt. Doed the events at the cartoon event not show that yet again religion is the root of all evil.
And the winner of the whole sorry event is Islam.
Once again demonstrating their intolerance of any form of free speech or expression. I'm not saying they weren't provoked but not sure appeasement is working with them either.
Muslims need to understand that the actions of a few do not mean they're hated by everyone, just like we need to understand that the acts of some Muslims doesn't mean that all Muslims hate us.If Muslims didn't mind, would they do it? Of course not, it's purely to wind them up. And people wonder why there are a large number of young Muslims growing up thinking 'the west' hate them.
I would hope they'd be arrested for inciting racial hatred.
Unfortunately I don't think that's the case. There are many that commit crimes that they wouldn't have, had they not believed in god. Their belief has made them a target to be radicalised, and has helped with their radicalisation.Anyone who takes these sort of things in their own hands are doing it not in the name of religion but in the name of their own greedy, selfish, arrogant & evil view on how other people should conform and life their life's. These evil people will be horrible human beings in every manor of life.
Which side?
