I think the aforementioned dark haired twenty-something needs to step in again and once again protect the damsel from getting distressed.

Really don't see why the poor lady needs to be trolled when she is trying to say thank you to someone who bailed her out of a situation. It really doesn't matter whether it was of her own making or not and whether she can document it in her opening post without a grammatical error. She just wants to say Thank You.

Well said, I was getting embarassed by the reactions to a nice intention from some of our so called fellow fans. This forum is getting far too pedantic.

How would the OP known she had got on the wrong train?

If the restrictions are clearly on the ticket then why was she on that train?

"Leave her alone, can't you see she's upset"

Oh, by the way, it was me, always happy to help a 'Damson in a Dress' Unfortunately, I won't be able to collect my prize until my Bails been sorted

Completely slipping (very temporarily) into a sensible mode, well done to the real Shining Knight !

In all seriousness, it was me. Please can I have my payment in the form of Kellogs variety selection packs. Please remove the Bran flakes and replace them with an extra pack of Frosties. Please only provide the branded Kellogs variety. There is no substitute and we don't want another Rice Pop incident on our hands.
Please leave the packs well wrapped, a shoe box covered in brown paper and placed inside a cheap backpack should be ideal, and leave under the departures board at Brighton Station. I should find it there no probs.

Many thanks and again, glad to have been of help to you.

You only need to put your bails back on the stumps to get them sorted.

I think we're just a full blown flounce away from Gold, IMHO.

- Well meaning thread (see Jamie): tick.
- Deluge of sarcastic replies: tick
- Rapid onset of tetchiness from the OP: tick
- Spelling and grammar instead of content of original post critiqued: tick.

Not sure, the Op hasn't flounced enough yet.

What gets me is that she even put in her comment that her friends filtered through an open gate ... why would you then be looking for tickets?

6.30 ish on Saturday evening I went to go through the barriers at St Pancras station en route back to Brighton with my family and mates.

They filtered through an open barrier but I lost them when sorting through my tickets, I was stopped by a rail guard who advised I had caught the wrong train back for the rail tickets I had.

An argument ensued between myself and the guard then the old bill interfered as, fair enough, there were loads of people filtering through and I was causing an obstruction so I was moved to one side.

I explained I didn't realise it was the wrong train and the jobs worth insisted I would have to pay again for the train I had taken!

By this time I was getting very upset as I was being treated like some sort of friggin master criminal.

At this moment a Brighton fan, maybe in his 20's dark hair wearing a black t shirt and shorts came over and said words to the effect "leave her alone mate, can't you see she's upset, don't be such a friggin jobsworth, you can see she's got tickets, what's your problem?" at which point I did a runner and got through then eventually caught up with the others and got back to Brighton safely.

If you were this lad or you know who he was, I was just want to say, thank you so so so much for what you did and I would love to buy you a drink or three, just sincerely hope you didn't get into any trouble yourself? :drink::drink::drink:

So basically you bunked on a train you didn't have a ticket for, you tried the tits and tears routine which failed to get you out of trouble and when someone came to aid you in talking your way out of what you did , instead of staying and arguing your case you let this chap have the row and take the heat while you legged it from the police.

Typical women, men get tickets in hand before leaving the train whereas women wait until they get to the gate and spend 5 minutes searching for them, happens in any queue to pay situation as well.

And then thought she might cop a shag out of it later!

In fairness, the content has also been robustly challenged.....
