You will probably find a bit of play on the pipe work if you have just Loosen the nuts on either side of the radiator it will leak a little now quickly lift and lay the radiator flat tighten on the floor the nuts

Thats what I do. Much quicker and easy.

That's what I would do.

I bitterly hate everything to do with plumbing. It invariably goes wrong at weekends, it causes an immense mess, costs a fortune, and the plumber is already booked solid for ages (but still better than a diy disaster waiting to happen).
