Simple fact is he could score 3 in each of the next 3 games and some people would still say he is no good. People on here seem to have players they dislike or think are rubbish and nothing they do will change their mind on that, shame but sure the players are not that fussed

One thing that seems to have been overlooked so far is the defensive work he put in yesterday, particularly in our rocky spell after half time. He made a couple of crucial interceptions in our box when Oldham were threatening to get back on terms. Not a worldbeater, I agree, but I'd have starting before Fraser any time.

I think he's done pretty well since coming back from the might Daggers (surprisingly) - but I'm still not exactly convinced about him as a long-term Albion player. Fair play to the lad though.

I think he'll be a good squad player. Not really the answer to our long term midfield though, YET.

My view of Doug Loft has been built up over years, he is a far better player than most will realise, alot of people can't spot good techincal players. As this forum proves, you can have a potentially brilliant player at your club with the majority of fans not having a clue about it! He was wasted by us in the last couple of years, he needed to be playing and if he was then he'd be either the lynchpin of our midfield or at a better club. He can be *that* good, but now that he's playing people are starting to realise that. And will continue to have their eyes opened up by his ability.
Good grief.

Could be a useful player. Needs a bit more confidence in his own ability. Shhoooooot, young man.

Apart from Cox he's probably the most naturally gifted player in the squad. FFS The Honey monster has played 150 odd games for the Albion, and he's about as much use as Kerry Mayo on a life support machine. With quality players around him and a decent coaching set up, I'm confident that Loft will soon be playing championship football regularly for The Albion.

Exactly, and you need squad players. Its what stops you from getting through 15 or whatever loans in a season.

to be fair i think he scored against Stoke last game of the season few years ago and again last game of last season, and he may not be the best player but from what we have seen he totally deserves the chance to prove to us if he is good enough or not, but on current form there is no doubt he is, the problem is if he can sustain his performance or if these games are just a load of goo luccck!

He made a couple of crucial interceptions in our box when Oldham were threatening to get back on terms. Not a worldbeater, I agree, but I'd have starting before Fraser any time.

After an Oldham attack in the 2nd half the ball hit the corner flag and rebounded back into play. Our defence was in disarray and an Oldham player (Taylor I think) was moving in on the ball and would have put us under a lot of pressure. Loft saw the danger and set off for the ball - he was second favourite but he got there at the same time as their guy and cleaned up him and the ball into touch. He didn't hold back from the tackle and made sure that if he didn't get the ball cleanly (which he did) he was going to stop their man from using it.

That was when I was glad that he was on the pitch and with him playing for us for the next 3 games I feel more confident about our chances. You can be confident he'll give his all for the team - and he won't let us down.

RS seems to have seen something in Loft that other managers haven't seen. With Loft and Fraser inmidfield (and OGH in the squad) we are now winning matches more regularly than at any other time in this benighted season.
Time to give RS a contact, keep Loft and Fraser in the mix for next season (and give OGH another year's contract). We're now in with a fighting chance of staying up - even if we don't, RS seems to be laying foundations for next year...................
