On the right? A lesser player would have been out of place playing on their less favoured side (Fraser), but Doug played well and he was ridiculously substituted, I was so angry at that I can't even put it into words.

We are wasting Doug Loft, and I'm sick of it. He's a good player, and I don't understand why he still isn't being used properly here! Unbelievably annoying, I don't mind losing, I don't even mind losing to my best friends' team, but wasting Doug Loft AGAIN really does it for me. I like Slade, but that was a f***ing joke.

The point of posting this thread (firstly, to rant!), secondly to see what other people thought...

harsh to take him off especially for El Abd who is solid enough but not really the type of player you want on the pitch when the team is trailing. 3 bloody 1

Had a really good game battled well some good touches and picked out a few passes. Really shouldn't have come off especially when we were chasing the game, 1 up with 5 mins to go maybe

I didn't know Loft was playing for the first 15 minutes.

My first ever post!

I agree that Doug Loft has been really badly treated by this club. He showed class & commitment today and I was astounded that he was subbed and, judging by his reaction, he was also upset.

As for the season I am finally admitting we are down, its been a horrific season, with injuries, too many loan players and the debacle with the managers. I only hope that whoever our manager is next season he is allowed to manage and we get back to League 1 at the first time of trying.

His reaction said it all really! what me? the wry smile and the shake of the head spoke volumes. Poor decision .

Ditto

The mere fact that Doug fucken Loft is on the pitch at all means we are bound for League 2.

I agree - and the same can be said for Tommy Fraser as well. The fact that fans on here are looking at the likes of Hart, Loft, El Abd and Fraser and trying to find some plus points just shows how low expectations have become. So depressing...

Comparing Loft with El-Bad? Are you kidding? ???

Exactly, and I wonder how much money is being wasted every week paying those four? Or more to the point, how many of us have to pay to get into Withdean just to make up their salaries? Dick Knight may as well have just burnt bundles of £50 notes at half-time of the first game of the season. Would have been more entertaining than the contributions of those "players".

You completely contradict yourself, you say that Loft played well and didn't deserve to be subbed, and then go and say he a waste of money.

Your view on the players you continue to criticise is in my opinion completely mis-guided.

Oh he played well today. I'm quite sure about that.

But you have to question his contribution over the whole season when deciding if he's a waste of money.

Yes I agree his contribution has not been what it could this season, but I don't think that's his fault. Adams obviously didn't rate him, which meant he found opportunities limited and was loaned out to Dagenham where by all accounts he did well.

I think given the chance he will do well for us, as today showed.

Lofty was lively and looked hungry for the ball, but he didn't give us any sort of dangerous cross into the box for Owusu and Davies. Everytime he got outside the box he took a touch to many to fire a shot at goal, so everytime he did that it was blocked by a defender.
