[Albion] Don’t know what people are complaining about, we were good today.

Worthing
Deserved a point I thought. Created more, won more second balls and we had the best player on the pitch.. Well Lamptey and Kante were both very good...

A pen / a worldie / a fluke - we didn’t get opened up at all.

Keep the faith - positive signs

Agree.

Good performance. Need more presence up front, but we all know that anyway.

The result was depressing enough, reading such cliches rubs salt. What’s wrong with aspiring to draw or beating Chelsea? I mean, we’ve had quite a few games against now...but no, we’re BHA, just expect to lose and lose we do. At least we scored. Missed a few sitters like we always do. But Even Palace beat City away. Norwich beat City. Watford thrash Liverpool. Bmuff thrash Chelsea. Etc in recent seasons. But Brighton? Nope. It’s just bed wetting isn’t it? Nothing to do with gifting goals again and not being able to buy a PL striker or two...same old same old. Remember, against lesser teams we can really turn turd and be a lot worse than them too So I’m not as confident as you are that replicating such play agains these will transform into 3 easy points. yes, it’s only the first game of the season but it was at home and we’re shocking on the road. We can absolutely guarantee we won’t win at any of the top 6. Or even bottom. So home games, regardless of the opposition, are vital. First game of the season or last.

Shocking on the road? We haven’t lost away since Boxing Day!

Taken 7 points from our last 3 away games.

And the rest of your post is shit as well.

Yes, we were good over two-thirds of the pitch but in the attacking third we simply are not dynamic or decisive enough. Players dither when they should play a pass quickly, but partly that is because we don't get men forward quickly enough to give good options to the man on the ball. An exception was Lamptey's cross from which a better striker than Maupay would have scored. We need more of that.

Forget points dropped against Chelsea, if we play like that we will absolutely smash the likes of Fulham and West Brom. And West Ham, and based on this weekend's evidence, even Spurs.

Naturally we need a striker but that applies to half the teams in the league.

That’s a big if, Simster. That’s the problem. Evidence shows we don’t. Polar opposite. We can be utter gubbins against “lesser” opposition, In fact, we’ve cut a reputation as a kinda of footballing AA for other teams that have broken down. “Not won for 9 on the bounce? Last scored in the 80s? Then you need to play BHA, we’ll soon have you up and running again. And we‘ll give you a free two goal lead just for starters, no other club can match our introductory offer. Ring Graham on 0833...and get your three points TODAY!”

Pretty much agree with all of this.

I was talking about the big 6. Over past three seasons. Numb nuts.

Doesn’t read like that. Please be clearer next time. There were enough words in your post to make a more cohesive argument but your post lacked accuracy and was factually found wanting.

Or is your NOW TV so far behind you missed our decent end of season away form?

It’s rage o clock and you want cohesive argument? Question Time is back on Thursday I think. Now, if we can get back to quality ranting...

Lamptey's cross to Maupay was a little behind him, he was leaning back to meet it. Now, whether that was him not reading the pass early enough to stutter his run, or Lamptey just slightly inaccurate I don't know, but I think it needs to be noted.

To be honest I'll say we didn't play well - and mean that in a positive way. Blind pass for the first goal. Backed off for the second. Free header from a set piece for the third. All things we only did once, just little drops in concentration, but once was enough. Dunk missed a sitter as well.

No, if we'd have played well, we'd have absolute matched Chelsea, could well have beaten them. That's how good I think we can be.

I think this is very similar to how I feel. I look at other teams and they’re just a bit shit. We’re good. But we make daft mistakes in attack and defence that cost us. It’s frustrating because it feels so close and you’re left thinking ‘when are we just gonna cut out these bloody mistakes?’. But you have to hope we’re slowly getting there.

All teams make mistakes so the answer is "never".

Same problem as last season, problem not rectified so expect more of the same.

Summed up perfectly. I shall say goodnight. The frustration continues on Thursday!
