[Albion] Don’t drop off on the A27

It's only a ten minute walk to Lucraft Road. So there is no reason to be picked up on the carriage way when folk can walk there to get a lift.

I'm struggling with this bit:

Helen Phadnis was driving a Tesla on the A27 at Falmer when passengers alighted onto the dual carriageway.
The manoeuvre forced a motorcycle travelling behind the vehicle to have to stop to let the passengers cross to the grass verge.

When I saw the headline I assumed it was for using the bus stop. But this makes it sound like the passengers had to cross a lane of traffic to get to the pavement/verge. Is it that traffic was moving slowly (I know it gets busy enough that at least a couple of lanes are at a crawl)?

The only thing that puzzles me about this is the Amex is 12 years old, you would have thought something like this would have happened many years ago? I wonder if some nasty near misses have been spotted recently

More importantly how many loyalty points for those in the vehicle have been dedicated and was anyone found to be bringing the club into disrepute?

We came up with a “hack” before Burnley when it looked like the trains were knackered. Leaving the house just before 12 the missus drove us to the Farm Shop in Falmer and did a “bit of shopping” before driving home, while the boy and I went to The Swan for the early game and cheesy chips.

Those of you who know my wife’s definition of “a bit of shopping”, my son’s never ending stomach when it comes to junk food and my pre-match beer routine will understand that this hack is nearly as unsustainable as a fortnightly dropping off fine….

Nah, that's already clogged with Amex travel hack walk-ons. Well at least until next season anyways when PBOBE will tell them the good news
This appears to be your latest hobby horse and there’s no evidence that it will be stopped, and no way to stop it.

When EDF is used tickets are sold and you can specify if it’s with or without car. That’s because it’s pressed into service when there are train issues. There’s also no way of enforcing it at Mill Rd where the bus stops are a long way from some cars.

Not really, just like winding you clever trevors up about your travel cheat that you've somehow convinced yourselves that you've paid for. I'll leave it to PBOBE to tell you the good news

Which part of “you need a ticket for EDF, they are free and can be either car or walking passenger- the club gives you the option” don’t you understand?

Cars seem to alight their family of porkers on the flyover itself in stationery traffic. Who then head through the woods to Bennett’s Field.
I've seen people 'dropping off' and 'picking up' at any point from the top of the slip road, on the over pass ( both directions ) and the bit between the loop and the lights at the entrance to the car parks

There have been games a few years back when Zef jr was mildly interested and came with me, that we got the train in, then walked to a mid point on Coldean lane were Mrs Zefs special taxi picked us up. . . .

And the equivalent Mill Road wording is?
You don’t need a ticket for Mill Rd except for the one time, which was when we played Man City in the covid game.

You had to display your CAR ticket on your car windscreen but you could also get a non car place :lolol:

I think it's safe to say the media release on this one would have been done not so much with a view to shaming the woman in question- whose name will have been a matter of public record in any case, having been convicted in court- but to send a message to others not to do the same.

'Naming and shaming will stop others from doing what they damn well please in their cars' - :lolol: :lolol: :lolol::lolol:

Bless all you lovely people, you're so sweet and innocent.
Naming the perp makes it real, or realer than 'a person has been fined etc..'.

The Uni pick up point is all well and good but mildly irritating to get in and out of.

A bag and some points is well prohibitive.
