Donatellos is STUPENDOUSLY average. Been three times and its always been "alright", nothing special whatsoever. La Gallaria in Shoreham utterly pisses all over it from a huge height.

Huge.

I like you but you are talking bollox

I like you too. But I assure you I am not speaking from my scrote.
I don't even like Italian much, but La Gallaria is something else. Their fillet steaks are to DIE for, and the pizza's my clan have had when we've visited have been far and away superior to Donatellos.

Try it.

Been there and the Galleria is run by Turks, try Toscas which came about when the Turks had a major fall out.

Turks Schmurks. They still do a FABULOUS Filetto Rosini.
Better than anything I've ever had at Donas.

I had an ok meal there, but kind of expect it from big places like that.

Most disappointing meal I had in Brighton was at La Tasca ?

I'm a bit spoilt for Spanish food in Sarf London and the above was rubbish.

la tasca is a chain, kinda like the mcdonalds of tapas

you can't compare south london to brighton when all you've tried is a chain restaurant

next time try a cracking place in the lanes.......casa don carlos(can't quite remember the name, its casa don something)

..er, I been in chain restaurants that are fine. I thought La Tasca was particularly bad - it amazes me how these places seem to pack out.

Not sure why you can't compare South London with Brighton either. I've both bad and cracking meals in both places.

All the Italian restaurants will have an awful lot of competition when Jamie Oliver opens in Black Lion Street. Reading the press it will be cheap, as well.

Every incomer that gets one of these shitty commuter freesheets in the morning will be swarming round 'ol thick-tongueds latest gimmick as soon as it opens. Leave 'em to it, says THPP, support your local ITALIAN Italian. Like Al Duomo's for instance

Location location location. Bet they don't get a lot of repeat business tho.

You haven't got any idea about what repeat business they get. :lolol::lolol:
We go there at least once a year and we don't eat out very often.
It strikes me as those who are dissing Donatellos don't like Italian food overall. I don't eat pizza when I go as they have such a good variety of other dishes.

Donatello's is an average, cheap for the family kinda place. Nothing special and there are much better Italians in the area and Hove. It beats taking the kids to Pizza Hut though.
