Does Tony Bloom have enough confidence in OG to give him the budget he requires....

He needs to get ride of Burke first and Barber and Jones and let OG bring his own team in give OG complete controll.

I think the real question is; Does Oscar have enough confidence in the club to get him the players he requires....?

There have been FFP reasons for tightening the purse strings this season and whilst we have had a number of players in a contract to the end of the season, we have not been able to bring anymore in because of these committed costs.

With the savings we have made this year, plus next years budget, money made from Bridcutt and Barnes, and the freeing up of contracts in the summer, I would expect good money to be spent on good signings next season.

I can see good reason why the club have had to be tight and cautious this season, due to many circumstances, but next season Oscar needs more from them.

If we are going to help Oscar next season the way he has not been helped this season, he will be the one needing answers from the club, not the other way around.

The allowable loss under FFP goes down next season to 6m, so you have to factor that in as well.

Out of interest why does Barber need to be got rid of. He's not part of the coaching team or responsible for player recruitment.

Yes sure, but we also have to factor in that potential signings next season may also be cheaper, bearing in mind that this season was the last chance for players to over price themselves in the market. Also with player embargos, hopefully according to FFP rules, there may be fewer clubs for players to choose from next season.

It is highly probable that it was calculated, that this season was a bad time to spend because it is not much different to bad investment timelines on trends in the stock market.

If we throw in that this season was more about Oscar sorting the muck from the brass and the future from the past, it has been quite a job in its own right.

Agreed, but I was just pointing out that whatever war chest we have, irrespective of where it comes from, it will have to be lower by 2m straight away.

It is no coincidence that the club have made a lot of contracts expire at the end of this season. This suggests that they are expecting to negotiate the higher wage earners down or chop them altogether if they are no longer deemed worth it.

Embargoes won't kick in until January 2015, sadly.

Sorry, Oscar Garcia, an ex professional footballer with coaching qualifications should be tasked with recruiting a chief executive for a multi million pound company? Exactly what is it in his qualifications and background that you think makes him the right man for this task?

Yep agree, and yes sadly we will have to wait for the 2015 embargoes. Hopefully, and without over thinking, the looming embargoes may have an effect in the market before 2015. I don’t know what other factors clubs will have to write into their strategies or if it is in their best interests to act, in some shape or form, before the January deadline. They may go for another massive spend in the summer knowing that it is important to player grab before the embargoes come into force.

I don’t know really but it is quite an interesting period and we won’t know if Bloom has played this right until this time next season

Have you seen how much he earns? We could save on his wages and get another player.

FFP will fall apart before we need to consider what next year's limit is.

If Forest, QPR and others get away with it, Tony could well ditch our adherence to it next season.

Pretty sure Barber has saved us a hell of a lot more than the wages of one player somehow.
