I depends on what clubs are signed up to. If clubs have agreed to rearranged fixtures at short notice then I have little sympathy. If they haven't, and I don't remember this happening before, then he has got a point.

Setting up your team to play against one club will (or could be) very different from setting up to play another.

Got to feel for Parker and his squad. After all, it's not like any of the rest of us have had our lives, jobs, plans and schedules disrupted or inconvenienced in anyway over the past 10 months. Must be tough for him.

No, not really. Of they were going to play Tottenham and that was suddenly changed to, say, Newcastle, that might be different - travel, probably overnight accommodation and and different schedule altogether. But 48 hours notice (with a fair amount of pre-warning over the weekend) for a trip across London, nothing to complain about.

Things could get a lot hairier than that before this season finishes (if it does).

Exactly, he should be grateful he was able to postpone the game at such short notice. I’d be interested to know if they held off on confirming covid cases so that they could postpone rather than field a weakened team. I am not vaguely cynical btw

I totally agree, no sympathy whatsoever, adapt to the situation you find yourself in ffs, the rest of us mere mortals have had to.

I think he does have a point in that Spurs would have done team selection and training based on knowing they had a fixture on Weds, even if it isn't this fixture, and Fulham haven't had that same preparation. Just maybe not as much of a point as it seems is being made of it in the media. However also think the media is making a mountain out of a molehill as it makes for good headlines etc.

The players are currently analysing his pre-game comments and you could only assume that their initial idea to lose the game because of the lack of moaning pre-game interviews will be reversed and that the players now have decided to win the game instead. He is correct in so much as it is not a desirable situation and should be avoided if possible, however I am not sure if he has noticed but there is currently a pandemic and the world has been completely screwed for the best part of a year so we have to make some sacrifices.

Personally I am getting a little p1ssed off with the entitled self righteous attitude of professional football, they are incredibly lucky to still be able to continue whilst the rest of us try to find a reason to get out of bed each day.

According to the article, all teams signed up to the fact that short notice changes may have to be put in place to help complete the season. Get on with it Parker, there are a lot more worse off people than you right now!

They cancelled the original fixture with just a few hours to go but I know for a fact that they knew it would be off at least 1-2 days before as they had some 12+ players and staff testing positive. (I personally heard from a friend of a family member of one of the Fulham squad the previous day that they were riddled with Covid and would be cancelling).
Add to that Mitrovics antics amd disregard for Covid rules and I have no sympathy whatsoever for Fulham over this
