..make any one wonder where his soul has gone or indeed where anyones soul goes when they die. And I'm not trying to tarnish his death or anything but curious question.

I suffer from depression daily, but live in hope it will get better and eventually I'll control it rather than vice versa.

But I've never contemplated suicide, nor would I. But my reasons are that it would be an insult to my creator if I did and my hell but be even bigger if I took my own life and it would be irreversible. At least while you're still alive every passing second is another chance to turn it all around.

You're not wishing to tarnish his death, but finish by saying that you obviously think his soul has gone to hell. You are a twisted individual who given your 'christianity' should be able to show a lot more compassion than effectively state someone's tragic suicide is an insult to your creator.

On the previous thread about religion you said some pretty vile things, and I see that is set to continue. You really do need to take a long hard look at yourself.

I believe that it doesn't matter how you die, if you are essentially a good person ( we all make mistakes sometimes) then your soul goes to heaven. If you have evil in your heart then you are quite possibly on your way to hell in a hand cart. IMO Gary Speed's soul has gone to Heaven.

So for just talking about his soul I'm twisted and have no compassion? Who is the one coming on aggressive here? I'm merely guaging peoples opinion. And you have made a judgement ' without even knowing me' that I'm twisted and have no compassion. Jesus h corbett!

Read your own concluding sentence again. Then think about what that says about your first sentence.

Whatever kind of desperate state you're in, killing yourself is the most horrific thing you can do to the people you leave behind.

I’m not religious in the slightest, I have no problem with those who are whatever their religion or denomination but am far too cynical to have faith or believe in the afterlife such as heaven or reincarnation.

I believe that in a way I’ll enjoy eternal life through my children and the generations that follow, as little bit of my DNA and to an extent my personality will carry on through to them.

Agreed. Everyone's got their own views and all that happens is that after a few dozen abusive pages and several bans, infractions and flounces the thread will get locked and no one will be any the wiser.

Wind it in. He hasn't said anything of the sort, he's merely asked the question which none of us can possibly answer.

If you think I'm not mourning for gary just like everybody else then that is not true. I'm just curious to see whether people think he's worm food, in heaven or whatever. We'll all die at some point and i'd like to think his suffering is over and is resting in peace. But I'm a mere mortal like everyone else so...

After many years of having some form of religious beliefs, after studying ancient Greek history, I feel the Greek gods are just as relevant as some god somewhere watching over us.

I love the idea of kleos, where hospitality was a right granted by a householder to any visitor ( and they had to be bloody careful as if they were bad to someone, he/she may have been a god, like Athene in the Odyssey who was very cross with Penelope's suitors after they abused kleos and bahaved like bally rotters! )

I think the ideal is to live life decently unbecause of the fear of a punishing afterlife. Hopefully we don't exist to be rewarded. We just do and get rewarded with enjoying it all for as long as we can and hurting as few people as we can along the way.

Have as much of a laugh as possible, don't hurt anyone, get serenaded off into the ground with Status Quo's 'Rocking all over the world', these are my life goals. What happens thereafter is thus rendered irrelevant.

I'm going to be deliberately flippant ...

Anybody else think when they opened this thread that it was a bounced one and the continuation from the thread title was going to along the lines of "... make him a candidate to play for the GB team with Beckham?"
