Does anyone NOT ever wear a seatbelt when travelling in a car and if so why not?

Spun Cuppa

Thanks Greens :(
The ones that do my head in are the pikey types who sit in the passenger seat, unbelted, with a baby/toddler on their lap!

When the car hits something, the adult will crush the child to death against the dash/screen!

I'm all for civil liberties, but FFS, use a bit of common sense!

I can never bring myself to buckle up in a cab for some reason. I think I always worry that the driver will take it as a dig against his driving if I am seen to strap in, as if I don't trust him not to plough his vehicle into the side of a building

Always worth carrying one of these in the door binnale next to the driver's seat in case you need to cut your belt or someone else's. It also has a handy point that shatters vehicle glass.

Also, if the police find one in your car, you are unlikely to be prosocuted. Not the case if they find a knife, I believe. (I should imagine Edna can confirm if this is the case or not).

Anyway, if you want one you can get them from spservices.co.uk

Ive just never got into the habit of wearing one, know its wrong but it don't help.
Even more annoying is the bleeper that goes on for 3 mins to remind you. you just can't disable it.
Think it all stems from when the law was brought it telling us we had to wear them, and i was up for a bit anarchy at the time.

If you don't want to wear it, just plug it in and wind it round the back of your seat. It'll stop the bleeping, and protecting.

Happens a lot here.

We often see kids jumping around inside cars etc and because a lot of people own Bakkies (pick up trucks), they let their kids sit in the bins without any restraint whatsoever. It is madness, particularly around here as the main road is one of the most dangerous in South Africa as it is used by huge Trucks to avoid the tolls on the highway and is about as wide as the roads around Ditchling!! We have horrendous accidents regularly, but people will still not put seatbelts on their kids, even when their friends families have died because of this. Does not make sense to me.

If Tunisian taxis had seatbelts, I would wear one because the driving is often quite frightening!
