Looking for somewhere half decent but not stupidly expensive to reherse in Brighton, or within about a half hour drive.

Anyone know of anywhere?

Scream Studios just off the Lewes Road in Brighton, or Brick House studios by the station in Portslade are two that spring to mind.

If it is only rehearsal space you need then just there are some great purpose built "Huts" (actually they are about 40ft by 25ft) just south of Crawley, very reasonable and soundproof, loads of bands use them, great value and easy to get to and loads of them so booking was never an issue.

As he says, for "just rooms" Pease Pottage are good and cheap - but you'll need to take your own PA or hire his. Scream IMHO are poor, the quality of the gear is shocking after a year or so of being open. Monster Studios in Hove is about the best for a "turn up and play" thing, all the gear is good and well looked after. Haven't been to Brickhouse for a few years but a few mates use it and say its ok

I have used scream, Monster & warners which are all ok but it depends on how good you want the back line to be & the size of the room.

I have not been to soundlocker but i do hear some very good things about them.

PM me if you want some more info

Have to agree, Scream is shite imo. Machinehead in North St Portslade was sound, think that has completely gone now though! And as Fork Me said, Graham at Black Bunker is cool (he has 2 rehearsal rooms!), prices not too shabby and the gear and sound is usually very good indeed. Does anyone know if Strummers is still goin? That was the one that used to be at the bottom of Wilson Ave, by the gas works type construction thingy (?).
