Yep, so would mean any new dr would be No.11

If only th time lords were still alive, they could give the doctor a new regeneration cycle like they did the master years ago.

Or maybe the fact that the timelords are no longer around means that they 12 regen rule is no longer in force.

Anyway - that was a cracking episode, quite remarkable; let's hope they don't utilise the 'Big Red Reset Button' option for the next one, although how can they end this without some sort of reset, bearing in mind what's happened to the earth etc.

Or,........it's all a figment of the manic psychic Dalek's imagination, and he wakes up and none of this has ever happened, and it is Christmas 2008 and the seasonal and proper Dr Who episode is about to start.

I GUARANTEE you that John Simm will be in next weeks episode as the Doctor...

You know what, that wouldn't suprise me in a way, great performance as the master, and im pretty sure he could do a good job as the doctor too.

Also goes along with the similarity with romana's regeneration.

The next doctors bound to represent one of the unholy trinity of political correctness so its either, Ainsley, Timmy Mallet or Jo Brand.

:)

Anyone pick up on Donna double heart beat ffs!!!

SHE IS A TIMELORD!! Possibly the rani?

I thought that... but rumour has it Donna has her mind wiped at the end of the series, surely the Doctor would want to keep her as a Timelady?

Plus surely they can't keep on doing this "oh look another Timelord survived that happened to be an old mate of the Doctor's, let just pop open their fobwatch/ring/Timelord biology saving USB stick" it's all getting a bit implausible.

I would love Jo Brand as the Doctor.

But, it's only happened once - that's hardly overkill, is it?

Twice, both the Master and the Doctor used it last series.

However, I thought that if you did have that fob watch, it re-wrote your DNA to become human, so you wouldn't have two heartbeats any more?

And regarding Donna's ring, looking at Wikipedia, it says she had or was given a ring in the Runaway Bride, something to do with the Huon particles, so that might be a red herring as well.

Well, the 1st time it was used by the Doctor was simply to establish the premise, so it wasn't a Deux ex Machina come the finale; but you are factually correct.

The ring the doctor gave Donna in the Runaway Bride was a simple gold ring, to act as a damper to hide her from the Pilot Fish... so quite different from the one she's been wearing of late.
