Bit close to call.

One saving grace may be how poor some other teams are, although Orient have got a decent manager in and have four points from his two games.

I would say DOWN at the moment.

You're right, we have signed some good players but we need to give them a chance to settle in and - in most cases - get match fit. Look at the facts:

Jarrett - looks better with every game but when he came here he had hardly played for months
Davies - played well against Peterboro until he faded with about 30 inutes left, but again has hardly played in months
Carole - Another quality player who's hardly played for months
Andrew - looked a bit fitter on Saturday, but again had hardly played for months
Burchall - another player who's improving but needs games

I would agree with that and it often takes that many new players 6-10 games to gel. How often do teams that have rebuilt with better players tend to start badly and finish the season strongly? Quite often I reckon. Problem is have we got enough games left and has Adams the tactical nous to help the team? He has proved he can attract better players but I still have reservations that he is a competent manager at this level any more...

The only new player that's come in properly fit is McNulty and that really shows compared to the other 5. Add to that the fact that these 5 new players only played together for the second time on Saturday and it all means that there's a lot of getting fit and getting to know each other to do yet. It doesn't help that 3 of them won't be able to play in the JPT game either.

BUT - stick with Adams and I think this team will get much fitter and play a hell of a lot better than we've seen over the last week.

ABD - bitch and moan all you like but I don't see Adams resigning or Knight sacking him

Carole was out of steam with about 20 minute's to go on Saturday so why did'nt Adams give Birchall the chance to get a bit more match fitness? He was good enough to start an international in midweek but not to get a 20 minute run out in a league 1 team when it was clear something needed changing out there. Andrew came here as a striker and he ended up playing on the left side of midfield when we had a bench full of midfielders who cant get a game because Adams constantly plays other players out of position.

We are running out of matches. I've said for months that we are playing like a relegation side. Weak defence; no creative midfield and not putting chances away. New players are taking time to bed in. If we do not draw against Millwall and win at Orient then that's it.

Hopefully the penny finally dropped on Saturday that Virgo can ONLY be used as a centreback.
Of course, the horse had already bolted by the time Adams belatedly switched to that after half an hour of disastrous defending, but a back 4 with El Abd deputising at RB until Whing is back, Virgo/Elphick in the middle and McNulty at LB *should* be an improvement (and Sullivan is a capable enough keeper).

If we can tighten up at the back, sort out our defending of set pieces and keep Virgo AWAY from that RB slot then we've got the forwards to get us out of this mess. I appreciate thats a fairly big IF though. I just dunno whats happened to Micky. One thing we always used to be under him was well drilled, organised and difficult to break down. Now ?

Pff.

We will go down if Adams continues to leave experienced players like Kuipers and Livermore on the bench.
Sullivan has done ok but he hardly inspires confidence in the defence in front of him.
Get Michel back in starting from tomorrow night and stick Livermore in centre midfield alongside Jarrett with Birchall and Cox wide.

What has Adams got against Livermore? Certainly we are playing like a team going down. The must win game is Orient. If we lose that, then we are down.

I remember reading that Nicky Fortser has never been relegated nor experienced a Wembley final in his career. Well whats the betting that both will happen to him this season.

51 points should be enough to stay up, from the last 17 games we will need to win 6 draw 5 lose 6 which is about mid table form. Of those 17 games we still have 4 of the other bottom 5 teams to play, get a few results get some confidence and perhaps we will keep clear of the bottom 4. Sort the defence out and we should have the firepower to keep us out of trouble, for all the crap play on Saturday we created enough chances to score two or three.

I think its nailed on we are going down, fact is we can't win at home and clubs around us win at our place:glare:
Can't really see anything but relegation:pi would presume we are probably the worst side at home in the league or possibily non league:lolol:

My heart says yes we will stay up....but my sensible head says after only 6 league wins all season we are looking doomed...so down at this moment in time....
