Do you think Slade will be our manager next season?

Will Slade be our manager next season

Oh god, we have the entire close season for threads like this. Don't listen to rumours.

If RS finishes the job he started and keeps us up by 5 p.m. on Sat, he should be given the job within a week.

If DK / the Board make any other decision, they will lose credibility to such an extent they can f*** off imho and forget my ST patronage. They screwed up at the end of last season and had better not make the same mistake again.

Yes because I wouldnt trust Ray Bloom as far as I could lift my house. He is the only one of the Archer clan that survived by changing sides midstream and I, even in my obsessed way, have a sneaky suspicion that behind the scenes Archer still has some influence and that possibly the Blooms are his link or even he is their financier.

Wow! That's some theory BG!

That is the crux of the matter imo, if it ain't broke don't fix it springs to mind

I think that he should be given the job but do the Blooms see this as a way of showing their strength by insisting that it is either a man of their choice or no more money. Does anybody know or have any idea if the Blooms want him or not.
Spot on. Once we know the answer to that question we'll know whether he'll be here or not. I get the feeling that a bald Yeovil reject who no one had ever heard of is not their ideal choice and they may see the last few weeks as a Steve Gritt-like flash in the pan. They may feel that getting rid of him now and bringing in the 'name' to lead us to Falmer is a better option than letting him struggle next season. I should add that that's just my opinion and not based on anything I've heard.

He has a short contract and I doubt he will want to go down to League 2. I hope he's here next season though.

Yes, I do. However I would not be that disappointed if he wasn't (depending on the replacement).

I think this run will be more then enough to earn him another year, and if they did get rid there would probably be a lot of pressure on the replacement to get immediate results because of the Wilkins/Adams fiasco.

Regardless of whether he SHOULD get the job I have a feeling he WON'T get it.

I think they'll keep Slade as it's the easy option. If they sack another popular manager and it all goes tits up, Withdean will quickly empty and I wouldn't be surprised to hear some "sack the board" chants from a sizable minority.

I suppose that's the beauty of a short contract, they don't actually have to sack Slade, just not offer him a new contract.

Personally I'd give him a new contract right now, but my money's on Gannon leading us out next season.
