I dont think he should, talk about too much pressure on the lad!

he should be used as a sub or in cup games for his first few 1st team games.

British football fans tend to get on the backs of players, regardless of their age. If he was to hit a lull in form, I can imagine he wouldn't be immune to criticism which is sad.

Two words - Jake. Robinson.

Does anyone remember the hysteria surrounding Robinson before he'd made a 1st team appearence? I heard some penis on the phone in BERATING Mark McGhee for not putting 16 year old Robinson in the team yet. Expectation was too high and fans got on his back when he wasn't as good as people made out.

It seems Caskey is on a different level to Robinson, both in ability and physique, but I still hope people have learned their lesson about putting too much pressure on young players.

With Navarro and Sparrow out Caskey is deffo worth a place on the bench, but Dicker is a quality player and is next in the pecking order. He'll be looking to displace one of the others as first choice CM.

I agree with Ali, too much pressure on the kid. Everyone is expecting miracles from him because he played in The Nordic Cup thing and captained England.

If he fails, he will be slagged off by us, and not given a chance to redeem himself in a long time. Has he turned 17 yet? If not he has not signed his 3 year contract yet. We dont want to lose him before that kicks in...

He is basically a first year scholar this year. May need years to properly break through! People may not get on his back straight away but a year or two down the line if he doesnt do anything they will. In two years time he would be the equivalent of Ryan Thomson and we're hardly calling for him to get a chance.

No-where near. He only turned 16, a couple of days before his debut in May.

I think Dicker will come in for Sparrow and we will make urgent efforts to sign another midfileder/winger either on loan or permananent, depending on the extent of Navarros inbjury. Maybe tell Newcastle now or never for Lua Lua.

Bit of a DOOSRA this one [and I'm not sure there will be too many hoping to see Whing at right back], but when he signed, it was stated that CALDERON played right back and centre midfield...

Highly unlikely, for sure, but its an option. [Assuming he is even fit.]

When Caskey came on as a sub for the last game of last season, he looked good on and off the ball and certainly looked ready. He did NOT look like a 16 year old kid who was given his debut as a gimmick. I'm with Gus: if a player is good enough, he's ready.

Jakey just wasn't quite good enough at the time.

Bit much to expect him to come in and replace Sparrow especially after his England exploits and the fact they have another competition before the end of the month. Would think he will make an appearance on the bench though

We'll play 442 on Saturday so there is no need to start Caskey. Kish or Batti and Dicker will play in the middle with Barnes and Murray up front.

I would have Caskey on the bench IF he's not still flaked out from all those England games.
