I like the sound of that, so here we go;

AMEX-ing grace
how sweet our ground
that nestles by the sea
we once were lost
but now have found
a perfect place to be!

How about that for starters?

this this and this....

Yup, will be giving it a go from North Stand row U :banana: :banana:

Serious question: I can remember many times in the past where we have had conductors/song leaders facing the crowd (ie back to pitch) in order to get things started, both at home and away. It can really make a difference.

Are they still around or do we need new volunteers to step up to the plate? :amex: :amex:

Nope, nor do I join in. I used to as a kid, but during my formative years, my brother was go through that "stop embarrassing me *thump in the arm*" stage, so I have been conditioned no to sing at games.

I remember as a 20-year-old the buzz of starting quite a few in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup 90-91 and virtually the whole away end joining in. Was well pissed (which is why I started them probably) and could hardly speak afterwards. Never bothered at the Goldstone. Left that to Goldstone Rap man Krispie. Happy days.

I started one a Sheffield Wednesday one away at the Dell once. It was the Gary Hart chorus for Andy Booth. "Booth" has a very satisfying bass tone ..........

Fair indication of how much I had to drink as well.

At one point I was the only one who started songs in the NorthStand at the Goldstone circa mid 80s. I used to stand behind a very young crispies and his mates. But now I will be sitting with fellow disabled fans in the south west corner, so who knows whether anyone will moan if I start singing.:shrug:

There might be some moans if you start a 'stand up if you hate palace' song...
