I always wanted to start the singing off but was always paranoid that no-one would join in with me and id look a complete dick.
Usually kept the aaaarrrrgggghhhhh's going after a goal kick in the old H block for the last couple of seasons at Withdean.

May try and help the atmosphere get going in WSU this season, but if i dont get it started ill be joining in whole-heartedly

Christ, these will be some hazy details! It was about 10 years ago at the Withers, we'd come from behind to lead 4-3 against Rotherham/Rochdale I think, it was an evening match and It was a trusty rendition of "you're not singing anymore".

My particular claim to fame was in the 70's... England v Italy at Wembley. Franco Causio was their captain and I started singing "Franco Causio sh*gs alsatians!". Don't know why... it just seemed like a good idea at the time.
Anyway, believe it or not, the whole of Wembley stadium took it up!!!

Don't remember the first song ever but I remember my last! Totally f***ed it up on the final day of the season - Barnet v Port Vale. I'd been on the San Miguel since 11am and started a song about Grazioli; it's goes on a long time and it's easy to get the words in the wrong order, to the tune of "Top of the league and we're having a laugh" I knew I'd got it wrong early on but luckily some others had joined in by then. It could have been the beer, it could have been nerves (needing a win to stay up) but I can look back and laugh.

Only ever started one chant...away to Colchester,we were' 3-0 up at half time,Zamora was'nt playing and came out with '3-0 to the one man team',felt awkward at first but suddenly every one in that end started singing and the Brighton fans at the other end started it after half time.

Away to Sheff Wed, back in the 2002/3 season. Just decided to launch into "...going down the Shoreham Road..." and everyone joined in. Went for a few more that game - now looking forward to see if I can get a few songs going in the new North Stand...

One - '91-92' ish, Goldstone North Stand - "We've got a Romanian International" in homage to Stefan Iovan who we'd just signed.

I was about 15 and a group of blokes turned round and said "You what?" so I shut up straight away. In retrospect, they were right - who likes a 15 year old smart a**e?

Absolute disaster.

Not started many, too old and daughter gets embarrassed.

Most memorable, Huddersfield away a couple of seasons ago, Andy Booth's last game for them.
Message came over the tannoy that team and especially Booth would come out after the game for lap of honour as long as fans stayed off the pitch.......to which I started and our end joined in with "On the pitch, on the pitch on the pitch.
5 or 10 minutes before the end, the Albion fans were "Guarded" by loads of stewards and police and the Huddersfield fans were left alone and promptly invaded the pitch as we stood and watched and laughed.

Happy Days
