Went to The Neville for a few hours late yesterday afternoon. None of the chaos predicted by some. Nice time with a few drinks. Only real surprise was the police turning up and complaining about people smoking in the pub car park. Strange given we never normally see police around this area - even when you call them ! You'd think with their cut budgets they would have had something better to do - especially as it wasn't against the rules. I really do wonder about Sussex Police priorities sometimes ! Hopefully they'll eff off and do some proper policing from now on rather than pick on pub landlords.

I'm not, as I am starting a clinical trial today and will be in a hospital ward until Thursday. I have a feeling that I will be gasping for a pint on the way home and may well have to book a table in readiness though.

My two sons went to a pub yesterday around 11am, I went to bed at 23:30 and they weren't back so I have not asked them how it went. [emoji3]

This individual was enjoying a pint yesterday at noon. Curious given he attended a Trump rally in Tulsa on Saturday 20th June which finished at 21.00 local time. Not a chance Farage would be able to get from Tulsa to a transatlantic hub for a flight that evening. Earliest he could have arrived in London on a commercial flight would have been the following Monday morning. Mr Toad could be getting another knock on the door from Sevenoaks police soon. Not the first time he's flouted the regulations. All the more irresponsible given the company of loons & deniers he would have been keeping at a Trump rally.

If you are going to set people alight maybe try somewhere a little more private.

Well just left my local pub The Dinkum........have to say Guy the landlord and his staff have organised it brilliantly ,table service , hand sanitizers everywhere and a friendly welcome. A couple of pints of Harvey’s best were just what I needed !

weekend upon us. Weather looking good.

Who is venturing out and has places booked / planned ?

Have a few places booked for tomorrow so have plotted a pub crawl. Outside conditions should make it a good one

This reminds me, having said "no way" earlier on in the thread I was pursuaded into a quick one at the George Payne last night by a good mate who's a regular there.

All a bit weird but nice to sit and have a chat over a pint. We're doomed as human beings though. Group of six middle aged women with dogs in and one was either backwards or massively entitled as she kept getting up to go to the bar. The poor barstaff must have told her four times it was table service only. Also your standard Poets Corner family in there with three kids who just wandered about willy nilly. Add in the totally mashed bloke who walked in through the exit and your "bellcheeses in the Corona Local" bingo card was filled.

Went for my first visit last night, all very surreal. Didn't really enjoy it to be honest. Think it was because it's the first time I've been in an enclosed space without wearing a face covering.

So... you'll go there again tonight?

Nah.

You have to book in advance. I'm quite happy with a little takeaway beer and the football at home over the weekend. As nice as it was to socialise I think I've become acustomed to my sofa over the last few weeks.

I went for the first time last night. I quite enjoyed it even though it was quiet. I was with family and friends so you make your own atmosphere.

Shoreham
I visited two pubs in Shoreham last night. The first one did not ask our names at all but had a digital picture on the wall that none of us had any idea what to do. The next pub I was asked to text my name to a number which was fine.

I went to a pub in hannover last week that was full of chavs so left sharpish. The Lewes Road Inn or the old Franklin pub on lewes road opened half hour ago, looks like quite a nice refurb, might pop in for a cheeky one before I cycle to stanmer park

Definitely going tomorrow, all booked ahead and a little bar crawl will ensue. Very much looking forward to it, however, our last bar of the crawl before the night takes a turn is at the Bison Beach Bar opposite Madeira Drive and there is now apparently going to be a BLM protest there, which is a bit frustrating as that'll mean big crowds, potential for idiots and now has made me wonder if we want to go down that way. All for the protests, but the wrong weekend for us and tbh I thought they had already had one.
