Clubbing is much better with drugs

or so I hear ;)

For a long time I was generally working (reviewer/photographer for a dance music TV station) when clubbing, so no drugs - and not even much drink - could be taken...

Reading Brooker's article, he went to a "niteclub", he didn't go clubbing. There's a major difference. One involves a nasty shithole full of mutton dressed as lamb, and the other is more about the music than anything else.

Nope, rather do an away game as i end up spending the same amount of money and find it much more sociable, whilst still drinking the same amounts as what i would do on a night out

 the poor old mare tried to have me sectioned!

I never learn though, in fact new year's day just gone (heavy night on some trippy pills I obtained) i ripped down my bird's Orlando Bloom poster because i thought it came to life and was attacking me

I used to LOVE clubbing, but now im 20 i think im getting too old for it, i much prefer to go round the laines and visit some of the bars there than pay a tenner to go into a club and the a fiver for a drink!

not anymore, although I do like to go once maybe every 6-7 weeks. Much prefer going out for a drink with the gf or pics now, or generally just going away for weekends.

What utter bollocks. I used to love clubbing, all night raves, warehouse parties and the like. All without drugs. It's the music that gives you the high. People who drone on about dance music being nothing without drugs are imbeciles.

If a good tune comes on, I get a massive rush and a buzz off the tune, no need for E or whatever else you can stick down your throat these days. Yes, I have done drugs, but strangely never E, despite its 'dance drug' status. Just give me the music any day. House music, techno, drum n bass - if it's good, it does the biz.

I went to a nightclub last night for the first time in over 12 months, and suprised myself by actually enjoying it. I was tipsy, but not pissed (just as well as I had to be in work at 8 this morning!), and had a great time singing along to the crappy 90s pop and attempting to dance.

As for only going to the pub to enjoy the alcohol, I don't find that's true. On occasion I have been known to go to the pub and not drink... it's a chance to catch up with friends; the alcohol just makes catching up a bit more entertaining! Even when I do drink, I don't always get pissed, so there's got to be something more than just the alcohol I go back for...

There are very different levels of clubbing.

There are clubs for people who are seriously into electronic music and there are clubs for pissed up stag parties and slags.

I can't get enough of the former but wouldn't be seen dead in the latter.

I have NEVER had a bad time at Fabric and I've been well over 50 times over the years. Some people get it, some people don't.

Works for me though
What he said. Alot of people on here seem to have only experienced the likes of the event and creation and don't know the difference.
As for drugs, I can and do go straight from time to time and it's good, but will never be as good as doing it with a couple of pills, there's nothing quite like getting that first rush to some quality tunage

It's about the company, the atmosphere & the music IMHO. Not really buying the tory Guardian crap about everyone just enjoying the drugs....you can do that anywhere! Me thinks they've been watcning 'Kevin & Perry Go Large' a little too much!

But therein lies the problem imo. As I said above, I love clubbing without the drugs, because the tunes give me the high. When I've been clubbing with mates who usually do pills, if they can't score they don't enjoy the night and spend much of it scouring the place looking for E's so they can enjoy themselves and re-live that 'first rush' as you put it. And to me that's a massive shame, cos there's nothing like buzzing naturally to a great tune. It's all about feeling the music and rushing off the records! :)
