Also spent a year at uni in USA in my younger days and was good friends with a guy who is now working for Marvel Studios.
He is always at parties/events/superbowls with people like LL Cool J/Dave Grohl/ Travis barker etc etc. Ridiculous really.
Don't think he went to any freak offs though.

Not exactly the same but...

When I was living at a student housing in Lund, I had a friend who worked at the music venue "Mejeriet" only a 5-10 minute walk away.

We had an agreement where I'd provide drugs and a place to chill to the artists. My friend was massively uncomfortable with drugs and that kind of stuff and we agreed to never talk about it (though admittely it has happened a few times when talking old memories).

At the time I had no idea who any of the people were as it was two years when I was 100% engaged in doing and selling drugs. You could have put Elvis in my room and I'd be too stoned to give a f***.
In retrospect it turns out I had a bunch of Swedish B celebrities over. My friends best memory from those days was bringing Sisters of Mercy to my room, which was locked, and then me screaming "leave me the f*** alone and take your band with you!".

No idea why I was so moody, but embarrassing to him as he was a fan (I've never heard them) + had told them to stay with me for half an hour while he sorted their taxi to the airport.

Only meet the guy maybe twice a year and in the first few years we didn't bring any of it up as he didnt want to - no mentions of celebrities, drugs, Mejeriet or my room - but now we usually share a few laughs about it despite me having like zero memories from all these Saturday nights.
Start on Lucretia My Reflection and go from there

That's interesting, I sometimes wonder how I would be if I found myself in the presence of someone I really, really admired. I don't mean just oh look it's Timmy Mallet, but actually spending time with them.
I remember reading an interview with Steve Coogan, whose work I love, and he was talking about working with the Monty Python crew once. He said he spent a lot of time quoting bits of python at them, being a massive fan obviously. Funny to think of stars being fans themselves and doing stuff they might find a bit annoying to their heroes.

Talking about SC, you may recall he bought a house in Hove about 25 years ago. A builder I was freelancing for was asked to price some building works for him. Myself and a couple of others went to the house but he wasn't there but his other half at the time was. She told us what needed pricing but said make sure Dave the dog doesn't escape. So, Dave the dog escapes and we are chasing him all over the street trying to catch him. He hid under one car and then another etc until we finally caught him.
A couple of weeks we returned, to discuss quote with SC. "By the way" the boss said, "sorry about Dave getting out on our last visit." SC replied, "Don't worry, it's her dog. I hate the f*****g thing".
