So you keep saying.
Apart from being in reasonable physical shape, what other attribute does a Postie have/need to justify a good wage?
Post Office workers have proved to be crucial frontline workers during the pandemic. The most important attribute is honesty - it is a physical job that carries a lot of responsibility and requires sensitivity in dealing with the public (particularly when it comes to dealing with people who were expecting important mail that didn't arrive - and that can often be related to badly needed finance). It also requires a certain level of skill and concentration - not to mention having to work in all types of weather. Posties can also be subjected to abuse and even assaults - as I was when I worked as a postman. Post office workers are subjected to harassment and bullying by managers, often work in very poor conditions, and are significantly underpaid (and the pay is particularly poor in the UK).
