I am happy for the west to get out of the cold war mentality where our governments try to use this fear to get what they want. Do you remember Cameron say that if we leave Europe, it will lead to WWIII with Russia?

Regarding Syria I am happy that the west isn’t supporting and supplying arms and training to the FSA who change sides and exchange weapons and prisoners with the “more “extreme fighting groups.

The point of the link is to show that the US and it's intelligence agencies seem to have every reason to tap Trump however they want and it seems there's evidence to show that the Republican party were courting the Russians during an election campaign.

You are openly admitting here that you don't see an issue with the President accusing Obama, by name, of tapping his phones. Or am I reading you wrong?

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was signed into law SEVEN YEARS ago yesterday. That means the Republicans have had all that time to develop an alternative. The House has actually passed about 60 repeals of the legislation over the years but they obviously went nowhere as they were never going to be signed by ...... President Obama.

In November the Republicans finally gain control of the House, Senate and have a "Republican" voted into the White House. There is even talk of Trump convening a session of the House on his inauguration day to repeal the Act. It soon becomes clear, however, that there is no consensus among the different groupings in the Republican caucus for a replacement. Even so, a ridiculously truncated timetable is established (it took more than a year of discussion and debate for the original Act to emerge) and the vote is set, symbolically, for the anniversary of the Obamacare signing.

The vote gets pulled yesterday when it emerges that despite lots of wrangling there simply aren't the votes for it to pass (not surprising, given that it has a stupidly low 17% approval rating amongst the public). President Trump gives an ultimatum that the vote has to happen today. And now, the vote gets pulled again when there still aren't sufficient votes to pass it.

This has got to be one of the most incompetently handled pieces of legislation in living memory. Well done, Republicans, well done.

Great day for checks and balances, the madman gets a right slap down. Agree with blaming democrats being beneath contempt. His party controls every branch of government, with that goes any right to blame the opposition. Another failed bill in tax reform up next. Tax reform has not happened in the US since 1986. I doubt it's going to happen under Trump.

Not quite, but it appears the bill failed because moderate Republicans thought it went too far and ultra conservative Republicans thought it didn't do enough, meaning both refused to support it. Despite being in control of both houses and the Presidency it appears the Republicans are not as united as they've been making out. As much as it is a defeat for Trump it is also pretty disastrous for the Leader of the Houses, Paul Ryan.

It's quite refreshing to YouTube 'town hall meetings on obamacare' and watch senator after senator all but running for their lives.

Even with such a large majority throughout government the Republican party is going to struggle biggly time, going forward, as their senators know they can't put a foot wrong or else the chants of 'your last term, your last term' will ring true..
