yes. absolutely. 110%. sorry, i just don’t see it with lamptey. lost a lot of best asset, his pace, since that catastrophic hamstring injury, and he’s not a particularly good defender or crosser. i think offiah needs a loan. needs to get some game time under his belt. and without those two we have zero natural right backs. and we’re in 4 competitions. so yes.

Boey rumours gone very quiet and with Arsenal signing Timber surely this one might still have legs..spurs said to be keen on both he and the Danish CB we were previously linked with.

Lamptey is made of cheese. Milner and Gross are too slow to cope with pacy wingers. Offiah has never made any inroads to claiming a starting RB place so seeing him in pre-season photos and suddenly thinking he's good enough to play starting RB is a bit silly.

So yes. We need a good RB. Anyone even half as good as Estupinian on that right side would be nice.
That Offiah? The one who was excellent in PL2, who has been on the bench a few times to gain experience, has shown by not being picked for the first team yet that he's not going to be good enough? OK, that one!!

I've never seen Offiah play but I think the club/whoever decides think he's ready for the first team and he'll play this season (some games at least). My logic is that if they thought he wasn't ready, he'd be loaned to a championship club. He hasn't been, and it doesn't look like he will be, so he is ready. Ditto Samuels.

Absolutely. I've only ever seen him on TV in PL2, so I've no idea where he'll figure in the club's plans next season. He may well be due for a loan - along with Peupion, Hinshelwood, Turns and Rushworth (again), Khadra (or a sale), Koslowski and maybe others.
I was just reacting to the suggestion that as he hadn't impressed enough to break through yet, he was unlikely to do so. As in revious seasons, I'm really looking forward to seeing how our loanees - whichever of our young kids they are - do this season.

Having Veltman, Gross and Milner cover right back is fine but it weakens us elsewhere. They should be used as cover in a rare emergency (Veltman maybe less so but without another defensive center back we will need him there).

We have decent options yeah, but a Pervis-level equivalent on the other side would make us a real force I think.
Agreed, why wouldn’t we look to upgrade that position with a specialist RB if the right player is available and it makes sense financially?

Veltman has been great for several seasons at what he does and will continue to serve us admirably I’m sure, but Pervis has shown us the quality that’s out there at full-back and how much they can enhance us from a footballing perspective.

Yes the one that is still young, and apparently was good enough to come on in two PL games. Also started under Potter at WBA in the cup.

other than that carry on.

Confirmation (for me at least) that RDZ is happy with Lamptey, Veltman, Milner, Groß or Offiah at right back this season.

Veltman, reliable traditional right back. Lamptey, decent as a wing back. Gross, Milner & Offiah as back up options. Yes it’s an area we could improve with a more glamorous signing but we’re still in good shape.
