Forster's great for his age; & Glenda has real ability, but is overrated. Just my opinion, like..

For the service they receive they are pretty reasonable,we should have signed another striker to keep them on their toes because when fit they will be selected.

Yes, Murray is hailed as God on here by some people. Forster not so much, WYSIWYG.

I think Murray is overrated by some. Forster is a more complete player yet to most fans eyes Murray is light years ahead.

Murray blows hot and cold. When on form, I think he is one of the best, if not the best in this league. But when he is bad he is fairly bad...

With Forster you know what you are going to get. Always making runs and trying to make things happen whether the team is playing well or not.

If we had a class midfield however, I think Murray would outshine Forster...

I agree with every word of that...

To me Forster in general is better - he might not always be on a scoring run but he always looks like the striker who will get stuck in a create things.

When Murray is on song he is a brilliant striker but too often he looks ineffective. It's true to say he thrives of service but I still think he blows hot and cold much more than Forster.

I disagree with that. I think that Forster is seen as untouchable on here. I am not having a go at him as I think he is a great player for us (and certainly not slow as someone said), however, Murray still gets stick from sections of the crowd who expect him to run around like a headless chicken like Revell. The criticism he gets has always been irrational considering his goalscoring record here and how good a player he is when he gets the service.

I think if either of them are overrated by fans, it is Forster (but don't think he is).

I honestly think its difficult to rate Murray and Forster because we are so poor at getting them the service they need. I would suggest that if we could sort out ourt nmidfield then that pairing would be really awesome. Forster is the better player of course but Murray does have the potential. I seriously believe that all our problems stem from a midfield that is constantly chopping and changing and that cannot get the balance right bewteen creativity and supporting the defence. Just like my FM09 feedback, there's just too much space between defence, midfield and attack.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
Murray 18 appearances 10 goals

but 5 of those goals have been scored in two games

He's had a lot of duds for a striker. But I guess if you don't get the service etc etc

McKail-Smith 18 appearances 13 goals (9 in four games)
Beckford 18 appearances 12 goals (8 in four games)

I'm with SICKASAGULL on this one, as in how motivated would Forster and Murray be knowing they will definitely be picked if fit. Competition for places is a great motivator, and a two-from-three in the striker dept. would make them go the extra mile to stay in the starting eleven ???
