IMO we are (arguably) the best footballing team in the league, on our day (Charlton, peterborough, Leyton O, Watford) We are probably a cut above the rest of the league. I have no way of knowing this though as I havent seen any other Lg1 team play nye on 30 games this season.

The only reasonable comparison I can make is by looking at the table, that shows me whithout doubt we are the best team in terms of Home wins and points ammassed at home, away wins and points amassed away, clean sheets, goal differance and most importantly overall points amassed.

If the novice panel of the fls want to ask rhetorical questions like 'are the the team who are 13 points clear with games in hand, on a (at the time) 7 match winning run, with the best home & away record and best goal differance, the best team in the league' and they dont all agree then so what. The only reason that other bloke wasnt presenting was because the usual guy is reporting on the cricket and the only reason Claridge is on it was because he lost the last job he had after satanta went bust as no one watched it.

We recieve plenty of praise from the media, poyet is on something every week from motd to 3 page articles in the gaurdian and is on talk sport every hour! My only gripe is the amount of Sky League games we have had compared to other teams, but again I dont really care.

Those of you who remember last time we won Div 2 exactly the same happened with That tosser Pardew coming out every week and claiming Reading were the best team and blah blah blah, we won the league by 9 points and thats all that mattered.

Dont let it get you down if they have the cheek to show the Man United vs Chelsea game next week and then not talk about Brighton after it.

And our coverage in a paper called The Argus is second to none!

What an excellent post. I wholeheartedly agree sir.

The desperate search by some folk for nods of approval from others has become boring. I know we're excellent. You know we're excellent. We're going up as champions. Who gives a FRIG what praise or otherwise we get on the way ?

There once was an immensely powerful and fairly splendid speedboat in a film called The Great Outdoors, driven by Dan Akroyd, a rich chap who had made it to the top of his profession and was reaping the rewards. The boat was called "SUCK MY WAKE". THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is our boat, and we're all aboard it, waving at all the flotsum flailing and washing around behind us in our wake, scrambling, scrapping and gasping for the one remaining lifejacket that they'll desperately clutch at to in order for it to drag them up behind us, up into the next league. The likes of Adkins are already in need of armbands.

Suck.
My.
Wake.

Like.
Perspective - it's something we all benefit or suffer from (depending on your perspective).
If it gets anyone down, then they ought to change their perspective....but it's sometimes 'the British way' to prefer to revel in the downside and miss out on the upside.
Could Brighton become the sunnyside-up of Great Britain's Isles? Well the Amex Stad will help, as well as The Albion that fill it.
It might be better to NOT be the dahlings of the Daily Dullards, be like a poker player that keeps the cards under the table.

The point is, can WE appreciate this New Gold Dream, this shiny new era that's gleaming through the muddy waters at Withdean Stadium?
It is all about the football, but for what we are about to receive..... has the Lord made you truly thankful?

Agree. Don't really understand this apparent need for praise from others. Its an amazing achievement this season and hardly needs rubber-stamping by the likes of the Football League Show for it to be valid.

Agree with everyone else. The only reason we are not getting praise now is because everyone is BORED of us tearing up the league. The race is on to be the first team promoted in the country.

We have been consigned to the file for 'done and dusted' - and let's not forget that the race for second is so much closer, and therefore more enthralling to general public.

However, if we were up in the Prem or competing in the Championship to go up - there'd be more said.

You know when you are in a race and most of the ground has been covered, the finishing line is in sight, you sneak a cheeky glance over your shoulder to see where your nearest competitor is...they are so far behind that, barring a complete disaster, there is no chance of them catching you...it is time to puff out your lungs and make a final surge to cross the line and achieve your aim.

That my friends is where the Albion are, one last push and the finishing line is in sight, the table doesn't lie...for all those who rubbish the achievements of the Albion, who were looking like relegation candidates at one stage last season, we don't really give a flying....

Find some of the Brighton supporters posts on other sites are a little bit 'needy'....posts phrased in a way that seems to be begging for praise etc...
I dont care how other clubs see us.

Indeed. Same thing happens in TV coverage of Formula One races. If Vettel or someone is pissing the race and three laps ahead of everyone else, the TV cameras can be forgiven for spending all their time on the tussle for 5th and 6th if those cars are only half a second apart. Doesn't stop Vettel being far and away the best in the race though...

Must admit it's refreshing to read this. There have been all these threads moaning that the Football League Show hasn't given us the hour-long spectacular that we so richly deserve and that the Sky News presenters don't genuflect whenever they mention the name of Poyet. But as has been pointed out: "Brighton win yet again" is not news. The media, if they bother with the THIRD division at all, should be focussing on Peterborough, Bournemouth, Huddersfield and Southampton as the battle for second is the only thing worth talking about.

At the end of the day people don't need to give us praise because they don't have to, we are 13 points clear and are for a reason we are a quality side and have played brilliant football all season and that is clear for everyone to see. If anyone does say anything against us (adkins and the likes) there just jealous of our success!

I agree with the OP, its not about who pats us on the back and says well done. Its about going all out to win the league, preferably keeping this huge gap as a bit of insurance. The likes of Adkins and Claridge aren't important to us. We know how well we've done thus far and so does everyone else. All that matters is how our club are doing and bollocks to the media.

Love it. Think we should unveil a massive banner at the Soton game saying "SUCK OUR WAKE!"

I'd been agreeing with the consensus that we don't get enough coverage compared to the likes of Southampton, but actually, this analogy has changed my mind. Thinking of it in F1 terms, I generally don't give a f*** how Vettel's doing when he's 5 turns ahead of everyone and I do prefer it that they show the struggle for the lower podium spots. I guess they're aiming their coverage at neutral viewers so it'd make perfect sense they wouldn't give a f*** about the team that are obviously going up and have no thrill of the chase left to them.
