Why would we want to keep him? He has no experience of getting a team promoted. Swansea didn’t exactly pull up trees with him!

It is looking like this is a step too far. I think he'll be a good manager one day but is showing lack of expertise and experience at this level. I'd get rid and get a manager that has more experience and nous at the top level.

Whatever happens Tony Bloom is most importantly a supporter of his beloved Brighton and he will know what to do. He will be thinking the very same as most on here and more so as it's his money and he will be wondering why Duffy Murray etc were not playing in the mess that we're in. He will be learning about Potter wondering why his manager is not demanding a new face or 2 if Potter isn't. Tony will know what to do and when to do it when the time arrives. I think the next 2 games west ham and Watford will tell. Both winnable but also we could get nothing and if that was case we will be in bottom 3 with run of games against most of top ten. I reckon if we lose next 2 then things will change.

By publicly stating that we don't need to bring players in to improve and strengthen the squad this window he has displayed his total naivety and his inexperience at this level has been exposed. It was a crass and totally ridiculous statement.
Then factor in kicking Andone out of the club AFTER the window was shut thereby denying us an alternate attacking option and it's made me wonder if Potter has what it takes.
Yes, I love the fast flowing football but it hasn't been getting the results. And results count.
I think he will be with us even if we are relegated because the crazy decision to give him such a lengthy extension before he had proved he could manage at PL level will mean it would cost us more than Giroud's wages until the end of the season to bin him off.

Even if we binned off Potter, which we won't. CH would never happen. That would be to humiliating for the club and Bloom, who would in effect say, they got it all wrong.

Just had a look at our remaining fixtures trying to put points together and assuming we continue to struggle away from home that means from these home games we need the points
Watford
Palace
Arsenal
Manu
Liverpool
ManC
Newcastle
That is it. So the winnable games there are possibly Newcastle and palace. But palace have this habit of pulling out strange results.
Drawable games are manu, arsenal, Watford That gives us 9 points at home and I think we need another 6 away and I reckon we need at least 40 points as it is VERY tight at the bottom.
I so hope this doesn’t go down to the wire as apart from Norwich away, March will be very difficult playing the top sides, then Southampton away, Newcastle at home and Burnley away is a shite ending.

We've been pretty good away this season (not terrible last night). I think we'll get at least half of the points we need (ie 7) on the road.

Pace, strength and spirit get you out of the championship. We didn't have any of that last night, so if we go down and continue to play the football we are playing now I expect us to struggle.
Bournemouth's 1st goal - long hoof up to the box, headed up by Dunk, 3 hungry 'Muff midfielders get there first and score, while propper and stephens amble back....Their second goal? A high hanging corner that bounced in our 6 yard box (criminal). Sheff U and Villa - classic/strong championship teams who happily took our points.
If we go down we are going to get battered around a bit, and currently our team loses its collective bottle as soon as the going gets a bit rough.

Last night was our “Fulham” game from this time last season. Different type of circumstances on how the game panned out, but the result equally shit, if not worse.
The Fulham game was the catalyst for our shocking run that almost sent us down last season. I fear our inability to convert chances and openness at the back will mean we won’t get away with it a second time.

I'd hope so.
In just half a season he has got us playing some of the best football I've seen from a Brighton team. I'm not deluded enough to think that he should have turned us into Man City in his first season. Of course there is going to be periods when things are not going our way and mistakes are inevitable, but generally, I'm happy with his first half season in the Premier League.
Yes, the squad is a little thin, but that is hardly his fault. He has a squad which was largely signed under previous management playing a complete different style of football.
