I'm sure Owen Hargreaves could cope with the German. I'm not sure if he would be a decent pundit, though.

Or perhaps Chris Waddle on French tv? Or Gazza on Italian? (I'm not sure which of these would be funnier)

I was hoping to enjoy the sight of Roy Keane sitting next to Patrick Vieira more than I did. No sign of any fighting at all - disappointing.

Dont know about you guys (and girls) but I am pissed off with foreigners being parachuted in to give their opinions before, during and after the game and as for that twat Roy Keane ........

It's not always the case, but it's often when that particular pundit's country is playing, so makes sense?

Our leagues are full of foreign players, whereas there are very few British players & managers in foreign leagues - our footballers just don't travel well it would seem, even after they've hung up their boots.

I'm not sure why the nationality of the pundit matters anyway. Are you also pissed off that some South American has come over here, stealing a job a British manager could have done, annoying you with his foreign accent in interviews....

I'd rather they got Keane and MICK McCARTHY for the next Oirland game. That would be worth watching.

Not as bad as having to stick Adrian Chiles. He's terrible and he's getting WORSE.

The worst thing about him is that he's clearly "a fan" but does blatantly NO research on anyone, much like Shearer, Lawrenson, Hansen etc. I remember a comment that Hanson made, taking this p!ss out of Dixon for actually making notes and not coming cack-handedly prepared with 25-year-old outdated knowledge.

Chiles is the worst though, no prep, no incisive questioning and no clue about tactics. He just latches onto the populist things to say and says them: Germans - Efficient, Italians - defensive, Spanish - Fluid, England - Lets "laff" at England, Torres - Can't score. Despite the Germans are pretty exciting now, and the Italians attacked better than Spain!

Plus his jokes are bloody useless and terribly unfunny. The looks that Keane fires at him are brilliant at times...

On the plus side for ITV, their advert breaks are now a godsend to aviod his turgid waffle and Southgate and Martinez are actually pretty good.
