School holidays that week. Will only inconvenience the schools for one or two days. But is this a reason to allow a school to cancel any contracts? Are they (Crawley) liable for any costs or have they to supply and pay for any substitute coach services. Why from January 1st? why not immediately ?

The transport contracts will be with West Sussex County Council, not the schools. The Council has a legal duty to ensure that free transport is available for all pupils who live more than three miles from their nearest school - so it will be the Council's job to find a replacement company to provide the service while Crawley Luxury Coaches are off the road. The fact that Crawley Luxury Coaches will be unable to provide the service (albeit for just a few days) will mean that Crawley Luxury Coaches will have to pay compensation to the Council.School holidays that week.
