Difficult to know whether this is an example of rewriting history or misremembering. When I read Harry Redknapp's book, I was amazed to find that an event I attended (Velimir Zajec's arrival at the Portsmouth training ground to take up his job as director of football and Harry's subsequent flounce out) never actually happened according to Harry.

If Harry Redknapp is involved, it's NEVER a lie. It's just a unfortunate case of poor memory.

He also "forgot" he had been to Monaco to open a bank account.

Sorry, probably being thick here, but how are these two events connected?

Being bored shitless at the cricket is a great opportunity to read a book instead of falling asleep ?

According to the way DK tells it in the book he didn't sack Micky - if true he had nothing to consult the other directors about.

MA "You've been a great chairman to work for. But I'm putting your position in jeapordy now because you're defending me. I don't want to put you through it any more. And I don't want to put myself through it - to feel that I've got to win the next two matches or I'm out. It would be better if I leave now.

DK "Micky, is that what you really want?"

MA "Yes, that's what I want"

DK "Then we'll make it by mutual consent"

Not how I was told by someone who was there. (it wasn't the waiter)

Might be interesting if " lenny " ever writes his own autobiography,I wonder if " Windowgate " would be re-written ?

Actually in retrospect no it wouldn't be re written

I said the wrong thing, faceless people got involved, possibly even you Vegster, and I was punished.

Thankfully after a period of time common sense kicked in and everything was sorted out.

It's a pity that the programme has never recovered from that point on. Now we have the Aldershot/Crawley/Woking show with that other club, you know, the one with ten times the support of the others and in a higher league, squeezed in between.
