Division 1 Standard

After watching Div 1 games this season i believe the standard has definately improved! The average player has more quality and it is faster.I think there are more good British players slipping into the championship and Division 1,because of the ever increasing number of foreign players coming to this country.Also i believe the recent fairy tale stories at Wigan, Hull and Burnley have given hope and belief to other unfashionable clubs in reaching the Premiership.More clubs are investing in ther playing staff on the strength of this. This is why we are not where every Brighton fan expects us to be.Last season we struggled in a division which was then improving and in an ideal world should have spent a few quid then but instead we went berserk in the loan market which was in my opinion detrimental long term for the team.The money we have spent this season was long long overdue and all it realistically may do is insure us survival in this division.When Adams came back the squad was in dire need of an overhaul,he tried to sign what he thought we needed but some of his signings didn`t work and we struggled.Slade has been given more backing and has used this sensibly but we still need a bit more.I think we are 2 signings(defender + midfielder) perhaps 3 if Murray goes,from competing with the Leeds and Charltons of this division.I do believe Slade will do it for us,the signs are there,we played some good stuff today. But we are still very much in the middle of a major re -build that must continue not just for the present but for the future of the team.More cash please Mr Bloom or with Falmer looming perhaps a new investor to work with you.

It was a serious mistake not to try harder to keep Lloyd Owusu.

You're in cloud cuckoo land if you think you're only 2 or 3 players away from competing with Charlton & Leeds.

You are nowhere near Charlton, Leeds, Norwich, Southampton, MK Dons, Millwall and Colchester.

Then there's another 5 or 6 that are still better than you. That means that you're fighting it out with another 9 clubs for 4 relegation places.

I agree that the 3rd division has got some good teams in it, but your lot aint one of them. Looking at what's in that league, the best you can hope for is about 13th/14th. Personally I think you'll have the best ground in the 4th division soon
