That is not the point if the club are going to offer food or snacks then they must be of a reasonable quality and the food sold in the North Stand does not meet that criteria.

oh for fucks sake, food at football is always shit, what do you expect? if you dont like it dont eat it, pretty simple.

But there's shit..and appallingly awful shit and that's what this place serves.

I've happily eaten poor quality food at football grounds for many years because I was hungry and accepted that what I was eating was not the best. But with the North Stand stuff, I'd rather go hungry.

I'm sorry, but the fact that the van sells over-priced shit food when it's the only choice is hardly a shock, is it? We all know it's crap and has been ever since we got back to Withdean, so it's easy enough to plan for it. If I go straight to a game from work I either make sure I get something decent to eat at lunchtime or go to a chippy on the way to the game. The only thing I ever buy from those robbers is an occasional cup of tea but at £1.20 even that's a bloody rip-off. Just give it a wide berth - if more of us did that then they'd have to improve it

That's not the point though is it? Of course most people try to eat before going to the ground. Sometimes - especially before evening matches - that's not possible. And, when it's freezing in midwinter, it's good to get something hot at some time.

When people moan about the North stand food outlet, it's not because it fails to meet some inflated, unrealistic standard. It is utter garbage that you would hesitate to feed to a dog, served - very, very slowly - by people who appear to have little idea about food hygiene. Even the drinks are foul, along with the scrabble to find sugar, milk, spoons etc on a rickety table.

To say that people should just not use the place is unacceptable. Pretty much every other club manages something better, so it shouldn't be beyond the Albion to find a decent caterer.

Might have been taken in the wrong context. I've been going to The Albion (indeed any football) regularly since 1978, in that time ive bought about twelve quids worth (if worth is the right word?) of food in or around football stadia. It's shite and it always has been, i'd rather go hungry as it's never going to improve all the time fans pay it, it's up to you

I would agree generally but the offerings at Burgess Hill are of a far higher standard than at most League and Non League venues.

I've only dined in the South restaurant once and it was much better!!

I had some chips in the North last season (or maybe the season before) and they smelled and tasted of sick. I'm not exaggerating! I'm told it was probably down to them using old fat!

The food in the North Strand is worse than any other I have tasted in a footbll ground either league or non league. The price is exhorbitant and they say that is due to the amount they have to pay BHA. If that is the case and I do not know that it is or is not then BHA should accept some of the blame and put the matter right even if we are only there for another 3 years.

I have overcome this I take a flask of soup and Ben takes a flask of chocolate and a coke so with burgers etc that is £10 per game they have lost just from me. They obviously do not need the trade!!

This is such a boring dispute if you don't like it and think it is over priced then just don't buy it.

Not a hard one to work out and I think the last item of food I bought in a footie ground was Northampton and a pie (which was actually very nice).

Can you not go 105 minutes without eating?

She can go without eating or drinking for days. I call her the camel.

Please ignore her opinion. Anyone who can eat a whole tub of Houmous on it's own (like a bowl of soup) does not deserve a culinary opinion. :)

Who invited your opinion Mr Saville. Stick to allowing babies to stand on cat's tails!:bigwave:

Oh, just realised this is not my profile that I'm on. Don't let on. haha

I agree hence my decision to take flasks and not buy any food there. I think a lot of people may go to The Sportsman before games for a carvery when it re-opens, that is assuming it will open for food before and after matches.

You really miss the point completely.
Many people DO want to eat at games. The queue's in the South and family stands prove this.
I've only been in the North stand a handful of times, but at the Peterborough and Northampton games, I had come straight from work an planned to eat at the ground as I often do for midweek games. At the Posh game, I had an overcooked sausage and hard chips with some lumps of salt on them. At the Northampton game, the burgers and sausages looked like they'd been cooked for about an hour before the game and so I went without.
If they provided decent food, they would sell much more and the charge the club make wouldn't be such a large proportion of their takings. At the end of the day, it's the caterers who are losing money and it's in their interest to improve the offerings. Surely it's helpful to them if people point out why they are not buying from them.

And it's really me this time as I've wrestled control of the computer back from The Grub!
