Rewind to November 1970, and a video news clip of how authorities in Oregon disposed of a rotting whale carcass which had become beached. It's a sad story with no dignity for the whale, but... (naughty boy), I can't help giggling at it.

Well I can tell you now, times have changed. Put the whale on a large ice cream cone and a solitary seagull will have it away in 30 seconds flat.

Also, imagine calling up your car insurance company...

"Oh, Hi... my car's been written off. The roof is smashed to pieces. Can I make a claim?"

"Certainly Sir. How did it happen?"

"A huge piece of flying whale fell on it"
