If it's the first time, it'll probably go again as you've now loosened the ligaments up around it. Could need pinning if it keeps going.

A rugby playing mate did his 40+ times before it was pinned. Well, he says that anyway.

Theres quite a few people on here who have managed that painful trick. I myself am a 5 time veteran, never taken the step to having it pinned in, done mightly fine since the last time after which I got myself a good weights program and finished my basketball career....

Good luck - it'll be bloomin painful in a muscle ache way if you get bumped or move it for a few days, but after that take it easy and you should be ok....

4 times here

Painful as f***.

If they give you physio to do, make sure you do it. There's no reason why it should go again if you do the exercises properly.

I'm told that the repeated lifting of a pint glass full of cider is almost the PERFECT rehabilitation technique.

Several times - twice requiring hospital treatment (1 for each shoulder). It REALLY hurts - you have my sympathies!!

Make sure you get the shoulder stable - it's a long road to recovery.

Dislocated mine on a number of occasions, twice playing golf. Mine needs pinning and I know the surgeon well (drinking mate) but as of yet not had it done. I believe the re- cooperation time is long post op.

If you are dislocating your shoulder repeatedly get yourself checked for EDS/hypermobility. This is an increasingly diagnosed problem and has a spectrum from 1-9 so you can have it mildly or severely. It is essentially a problem producing colagin, a protein which binds tissues in the body. You can strengthen these connective tissues with weight training and sport as this helps your body produce proteins and taking a good protein suppliment. It is worth getting checked if it is a recurring problem as if not looked into can cause problems later in life.

And if it does go again, you won't feel anything.
