And Neville, Keane and Wright talking over each other at the end was a really awkward way to end the show. Wrighty must be absolutely gutted he was lumbered with them in that jubilant moment.

He's f^&*ing rubbish. He set up the situation that Denmark had lost a player without ever informing us of who that player was. Pougatch has just been talking about it, and didn't have the decency to name the player. I'm still in the dark over who it is. Shambles. But, apparently, the BBC is shite, and the licence fee is a waste of money. Oh well.

Matterface is too busy reading his wooden preplanned soundbites, very self aware that they’ll be on reels/videos forever if we win the tournament.

Like many modern commentators, he’s lacks the oh so simple ability to just describe the events in front of him.

I’d love the final’s viewing split to be:

BBC 24m
ITV 1m

Matterface and Dixon, just a nightmare from kick off, complete excruciating tripe each time either opened their gob. Hopefully the final isn’t just ITV

The cat fight at the end of the show between Wrighty and Keane over Stirling, was funny. Keane is such a wind up merchant and miserable sod.

Or simply shutting up.
We can see it.

We dont need to know this is the first time we've been in a final since 1966.
Everyone watching knows that the winner will play Italy in the Final on Sunday.

Shut the f**k up for Gods sake

Great point. If there’s a silence, no need to fill it.

Matterface spent years as Talksport’s rubbish main commentator … he’s carrying on with radio commentary ffs.

A particular Twatterface highlight “No one’s going to school tomorrow, phone in and tell work you’re not coming in”

:lolol::lolol:

No wonder Natalie Sawyer binned him off.

The bit after the final whitle where the players walked round the pitch having just won a semi-final at Wembley is a moment that will probably never be repeated.
That was the perfect time for the commentary team to just shut up and just let the pictures and the crowd provide the narrative and define the moment.

But no; they had to talk shit all over the top of it. Bellends.

Well, I for one was more than happy with the whole ITV presentation of tonight’s game. I thought the use of adverts to break any kind of mood was exceptional, and I really didn’t know that Deliveroo delivers such a wide range of take away food.
Lee Dixon as co-commentator was a master stroke, I , for one, spent most of the match marvelling at how he managed to get the gig, and not at how bad the actual commentator was.

I will of course, be tuning in on Sunday evening for the big game, and all those adverts that will do add to the occasion.

I don't think I have seen or heard such poor coverage of a game in my life, it was off the scale, except for Ian Wright, I had to turn the sound off, I put it back on at the end to total disbelief.
Although different sports, bellend Matterface should listen to Peter Alliss and Sid Waddell on how to commentate on your sport, you wanted to listen to them not turn them off.

Keane was loving that he'd wound Wrighty right up. There is potential for the two to kick off again on Sunday if Italy get the better of England, as in that event Keane will big up the Italians and goad a crestfallen Wright.

ITV should get Keane off the panel. He was a nasty ****er as a player and he’s a nasty ****er as a pundit. Panels work best when there is a natural chemistry between the parties but he just brings friction and an uncomfortable atmosphere. Not what I want in my living room.

Still, I don’t really care what ITV do as I shall be watching the final on BBC

I agree but I think that's the ITV way.

Look at the interview by Gabriel Byrne on Stirling, basically asked him if he dived. W@nker.

I take your point, although for me I'd rather have prickly but insightful over harmonious but bland.

The most interest comment all night was from Keane when he said that the Chiellini and Bonucci partnership is one of Italy's potential weaknesses. No other pundit would have said that, but given their age and having played 6 matches and a big chunk of extra-time that is an area that Southgate may be looking to exploit.

Yup. Why do ITV even bother when it's on the BBC simultaneously? Seriously, who would choose to watch football on ITV if you don't have to?

It's a little known fact that ITV football coverage was originally funded by a consortium of medical charities, associations and universities, who had previously found it difficult to find test subjects suitable for experiments investigating the causes and treatment of a variety of brain disorders.

Apparently the most common cause identified was having pencils and crayons shoved into either the nostril or ear directly into the brain.

I think we reached peak Matterfarce at around 44 minutes when he said "If England score now then that would be...good".

Exceptional.

I'm pretty sure I heard or read that before Italy's semi final, which suggests either another pundit did say it, or he's operating on the level of an NSC comment.
