Because he was only ever going to be a short term measure for a club of their size.

He is still more than good enough for League One, and could do a job in the Championship which is where he will probably end up.

I hits a nerve with me that we are resorting to 37/38 year old strikers to try resolve a problem that we have had for the best part of 18 months.

I see your point, but I think Dublin would at least be a short term solution, which is better than nothing.

Mmm, but see everybody is getting hung-up on this 'must have a target man' spin from McGhee. If he was a half decent manager, we could bring in a 'goal-scorer', and play another way.

But I don't think we have another style of play in our make-up at the moment.

I agree. Crewe played with two pacy strikers with good movement and they tore us apart. I thought Robinson and CKR could've played a similar way for us this season but that was not to be.
Now I just think we need a striker, any type, we've only got Robinson, Revell, Hart, and Molango available right now. And a "target man" doesn't have to just be a big lump we can hoof long balls at, Noel-Williams for example was better at linking play up on the ground then that.

My point exactly. Which is why our narrow-minded tactics and player search under the current boss worry me.

I do honestly think MM is being dealt a bum hand here, but I keep going back to the Adams/Coppell/Taylor situation and wonder they could bring players in and MM can't. And it's not to do with money because we know we have some.
