A ruby. Innit?

For supper, I've just polished off a box of 10 x Tesco economy choc ices :bounce:
The most challenging "gift" I've EVER been given was when I was driving a minibus a few years ago. A bloke got off the bus outside the District General Hospital in Eastbourne (where he was visiting a patient). He had a box of economy choc ices with him. It was a very hot day. As he got off, he said "I've got too many of these to take into the hospital" and passed me three half-melted choc ices (but not the box). None of the other passengers on the bus wanted one, leaving me with a handful of dripping goo and a feckin' minibus to steer through traffic.

I saw something on the television regarding using the Japanese Miso paste as a marinade for chicken.

I vaguely remember tasting some elses Miso soup, but wasn't really aware of what it was.

Anyway - Miso Paste, Mirin (very sweet, slightly alcoholic Japanese flavouring), Soy, Lemon, Garlic, Chilli and Sesame Oil in a bowl - Chop some chicken up and leave it for half and hour.

Skewer it up, and under the grill.

Fried up some garlic and ginger, added some finely chopped carrots and red pepper, and a little sugar.

Added some shredded Kaffir Lime Leaves which I always have in freezer.

Then some fish sauce, and a dollop of coconut milk.

Reduced - and finely added some pre-cooked rice. Heated through until most of the moisture had gone. Finally added some chopped coriander and basil.

Served chicken on rice.

Wasn't bad.
